Ok... I've never actually SEEN spongebob... but unless SB is actually boning that purple thingy he's friend's with, I'm pretty sure the only gay undertone would be acceptance and tolerance. AND as a gay man, I'm going to say that squarepants are most definitely not gay...

Ahh, it's been a while since I saw a post so obviously deserving the Rorschach Award. Pity we don't do awards here any more.
That said, it's not unknown for cartoon makers to insert the occasional sly, adult joke that kids won't notice but parents will be quietly amused by - and where's the harm in that? It certainly helps make watching tv with your kids slightly more tolerable for normal parents.
Well, there was that one episode where SpongeBob played the role of a briefcase-carrying husband off to work while Patrick was the stay-at-home partner. I watched it years ago with my friends kids and they haven't turned gay yet, so no harm done.
One must infer that Adoration feels that the creator of the universe -- the entire universe -- has strong opinions about SpongeBob SquarePants. In other words, the creator is a dickhead. Well, what the heck, Adoration's probably right.

Of course! Every good fundie knows that real life cohabitation is just like porn - people of opposite gender, or gay people of the same gender, when present in the same room under any mundane circumstance (laundry room, elevator, whatever) and regardless of their previous relations, are immediately overcome with lust, rip each other's clothes off and go at it in a variety of well-choreographed positions.
What I want to know is when words or phrases became "gay" This entire wave of having words that can "only" be used by certain people of certain groups in American culture is really starting to piss me off. Last time I checked, the words in Oxford's and Webster's dictionaries were universal, meant to be used by everyone and anyone. I have honestly never heard a word that I associate souly with homosexual behavior or people. Including "fabulous," which for some reason that's beyond me, is apparently the Gay Word King. If that were the case, however, my father would obviously be in denial and considering several of his horrendous girlfriends i've had to tolerate, I doubt that.
If you see a cartoon of a moronic pink starfish who is friends with a hyperactive yellow sponge on the same block as a bitter, melancholic squid who hates both of them, and all you can think of is "gay sex orgy", that says more about you than it does about the cartoon, doesn't it?
The fact that you think that being energetic and happy on the verge of naivete is indicative of homosexuality shows you just how much you think of heterosexuality by contrast...

It IS sad, but only because they canceled things like Animaniacs and Invader Zim to free up the timeslots and merchandising shelves with Spongebob, etc.
