And Obama lacks the humility to say 'I'm not God or The Messiah. I'm just the President'.
Or, maybe, like the rest of us, he sees no reason to. How often are you asked, "Are you the Messiah?"
But the fact that he refuses to do so, tells me he has some ulterior motive, for refusing to do so.
Or, maybe, you're just reading too much into it.
It is blasphemous to delcare any mortal man is The Messiah...
Okay, I'll grant you that. Just watch your typos.
but is it not just as blasphemous for one to denounce such claims?
I think you mean "not denounce such claims." Frankly, it depends. If enough people are saying, "You must be the Messiah," I can see the target of such claims getting worried, and I would agree that he needs to denounce them. However, if it's just one or two nutters, well, that's not really a concern to me.
Why hasn't Obama done so? What message should that be sending?
I'm not sure what message it should be sending, but it's sending one of two messages to me:
1) Obama hasn't heard of this guy declaring him to be like god. It's likely. I doubt the President has enough spare time on his hands to read everything everyone says about him. If he took the time, I'd say he was either a megalomaniac or had low self-esteem.
2) Obama feels that if he comments on it, he'll give more credence to the claim than if he ignored it. It might work, then again, it could backfire, if in fact more than just this one individual is making this claim.
As an aside, should it worry me the FSTDT has the word "megalomaniac" in it's spell-checker dictionary?
@They Call Me V
Obama then proceeded to confirm he is NOT... Superman,
Actually, during a fund raiser, when he and McCain were roasting each other, he did admit to being Superman.
