(In response to question "So, before my daughter died, I had about equal portions of atheist and Christian friends. Who do you think showed themselves to be the most supportive?")
Crazy Fundie answer: "Could be either, but if it was the atheists it is the devil's deception to try to pull you into something that will put you in real bondage. I realize that many times Christians don't come thru when you need them the most but there are times when they do if they are sure the Lord is leading them."

Christians act in an insensitive, or apathetic manner, or act like outright douchebags: Tsk, tsk, they should be better than that.
Atheists act in a sensitive, caring, and kind fashion: Truly this must be Satan's trickery.
Sigh...DIAF (sorry, the devil in me must just be retailiating against you for being exposed...)
Yes, it is the devil's deception that makes atheists, on average smarter, in this person's case, nicer, and in my opinion cooler than theists.
and the devil puts a lot of work into hiding both God and himself.
Occam disagrees.
I think I know the answer, but I really wanna know what the OP's reaction is.
Yeah its sad, I know. But that the kind of world we live in.
important point
remember the safety word
Ah, the old "when atheists do good it's of the debbil, 'cause atheists are teh ebil!" argument. Truly a classic, irrefutable christian argument.
Fundies are only supportive if they think the Lord wants them to be? And that's only occasionally?
What a way to excuse being a self-centered ass. "The Lord isn't leading me to be supportive right now, so I'll just go on my merry way and ignore your pain."
If it's the Christians, it's because their religion leads them to be morally good and care about other human beings. Their god is love, and he moves in them to show compassion. If they don't, then we shouldn't be surprised because they're still only human.
If it's the atheists, it's because Satan is playing a trick and is attempting to deceive you into thinking that atheists are good people. If they don't show up, it's because they are obviously immoral and heartless bastards.
I am amazed at the double standards that exist in fundietown.
In my mind it will be reasonably even (depending on your connection with each and relationships etc...)
But to say that half her friends are only helping so they can pull her into hell....that's just a bad thing to say.
@Brian-sama:
Just be thankful that it only happens in 'fundietown'. And that they are a minority...I hope...hmm

My guess is it WAS the atheists. Fundies are MUCH too judgmental & hateful; they likely would have said 'your daughter is now in hell because she wasn't born again/a sinner/a closet homosexual/had pre-marital sex/supported abortion rights/rejected the teachings of our church/wasn't homseschooled/believed in evolution....
And the list goes on. I doubt the fundy assholes would have been remotely sympathetic.
If an Ateist is nice that's not good.
They actually think this way, they actually see wrong in acts of genuine support and well-wishing.
They actually don't give a shit about anything but their God
Man, if you can't mobilize your humanity for someone's daughter dying, what sign is the Lord supposed to give you, you moral baby?
Maybe if christians weren't so goddamn full of their "moral superiority" and sense of supreme smugness at having "the most important" imaginary friend, they'd actually sympathize and take care of their own.
Also, bring me 5 examples of where the Devil actually wins at ANYTHING in the bible. No? Nothing?
You're so hung up on his "influence" but he's just as impotent as god.
Confused?
