If you took a thousand moonbatteryers and let them type for a million years, eventually one of them might accidentally come up with a plausible expression that would be indistinguishable from common sense. It has nothing to do with the oil industry, unilateral support of Israel, a history of political fiascoes with Iran or any other actual, serious reason.

It's mainly the United States that was called "the Great Satan" by some Iranians.
It was the Iranian Islamists who came up with the phrase "the Great Satan" during their revolution to describe the United States , not the West - the UK is often described as "the Little Satan." This leaves countries like Sweden whose people have very different views on LGBT people to those of Jimbo and the Iranian regime.
Al Qa'eda is not known for its love of the Iranian regime and the proxies of both have been at war in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.
Hollywood has less influence than US conservative obsessives might imagine, particularly in countries like Afghanistan, where 9/11 was planned, which has very few cinemas, and Pakistan with its own vibrant film industry.
Jimbo is someone of feeble education who cannot distinguish between Muslims, the crushing majority of whom (90% of the people of this country are Muslim and embarrassingly pro-American) do not fly planes into buildings; between Hollywood producers - say Stephen Spielberg and Mel Gibson; or between Westerners.
But if liberalism did incite a seamless Muslim world into 9/11, it is because Westerners don't throw acid in the face of girls who want to go to school or hang people from cranes just because they're gay. That, I think, is something of which to be proud.

Actually, a complex geo-political system and consiquences lead to 9-11 including our funding of the Afgan militants in the cold war, general dicking over of the middle east by european powers, and the rise of islamic fundamentalists as a political force.
