Again, another idiot!! The violence in the bible is to show what not to do and in learning this, how to walk in the way of the lord. It isn't promoting violence, it is simply acknowledging the existence of it and then following up with showing the correct way to live.
Islam on the other hand, preaches death to infidels and so on...there is nothing in the bible that says to it's followers to go out and behead anyone.... read your books before quoting with your single viable brain cell!

The correct way to live, according to the OT, is to slaughter your neighbors, take their women/girls (virgins only, of course), kill their livestock and steal their land. Then use, "God told us to," as an excuse.

I was just at the website of the CAP ministry (ChildCare Action Project, one of the many Christian groups that is just there to tell you how much "sin" there is in various movies.)

They say that people have been asking them why they don't "Cap the Bible" (that is, give the Bible a rating like they do with movies) - as the Bible is filled with sex and violence too.

Among other things they say "The sins in the Bible are written of to provide example by which to teach without demonstrating them as is done in entertainment. In no case does the Bible demonstrate any sin (as films do) let alone speak of sin to seduce us to sin or to excuse our own sin or to give us pleasure."

Seems kind of like what this guy is saying..

Oh well, at least they say "sin-ema", which is entertaining - in a depressing way.

The bible isn't violent. It just states that people must be killed if they don't worship God.
Islam on the other hand preaches death to those who don't worship Allah! Digusting!

Stoning someone to death because they picked up sticks on a certain day of the week is the correct thing to do... how? And how is doing the same thing on the other six days not considered a capital crime?

So why aren't you at your nearest Wal-Mart on a Saturday, with a truckload of rocks, ready to stone to death all those working on the Sabbath? It's your sacred duty to do so*. After all, it says in Matthew 5:18:

'For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.'

Oh yeah, that's right. You'd get shot by the police if you tried that. Keep picking those Biblical cherries, jinxa13. You obey what you want to, and not obey those that are too inconvenient, or could get you killed in the 21st Century. But by not obetying ALL the Bible - BOTH the OT & NT - you're going against Revelation 22:19:

'And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.'
