Drinking blood was an important part of pagan rituals during the era the books of the Bible were written in. In fact, it remains so today. This is why God insists we abstain from drinking blood, it is a form of idol, false god and satanic worship. Eating meat and drinking blood cannot be compared, don't twist Scripture to try to justify your argument. People eat meat for sustenance, people drink blood as part of devil worship.

Please do not assume that because something is not specifically prohibited in the NT that it is OK. If the authors of the Bible had to write down every specific sin not to commit, the Bible would be a hundred times longer than it is. Surely we can read the Bible and understand the intent without being spoon-fed an entire list of things we shouldn't do. I don't recall reading in the Bible that it's prohibited to run naked through an elementary school full of kids, so it's OK, right? No. That's why we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, to guide us. If you think that drinking human blood (or any other act) is inherently wrong, it is not your humanity that is saying that, it is the HS guiding you. People who think such things are OK do not have the HS guiding them.
