My self-esteem is pretty stable, but I still recognize all my errors.
But I’m in no corner. I keep asking for a reason to believe in any gods.
I don’t usually get evidence or decent arguments. More often i get posts like yours, here, where you blame me and my attitude for not believing. Not all that threatening or even disconcerting.

My back has been against the wall, but it wasn’t pride that kept me from invoking Jesus. Or Vishanti. Or Astarte. Or Raven.
It was the sheer lack of any reflex in that direction.
You know, when men are wounded on the battlefield, they’re as likely to call for Mommy as they are to call on God. It’s an emotional crisis and their programming spits out a hope that their rational minds would not. NO one thinks that Mommy can cross the ocean ahd kiss their sucking-chest-wound and make it all better. But they still cry out.
