"Rightly or wrongly, the man was guilty of transgressing the law of the land at that time.Whether or not he was a giant in his field is totally immaterial."
In that case, I want to see you outside your local supermarket on a Saturday with a truckload of rocks, ready to stone to death any & all of the workers who come to work there. What's that? You're scared that if you did, you'd have the police drop on you with a ton of bricks because you'd be transgressing the law of the land? Well then. If you're not prepared to do what the Bible commands you to, then you've lost the moral high ground, and you no longer have the right to question others' actions. But then you never had that right in the first place: 'Judge not, lest ye be judged', amirite? Indeed, by disobeying the Bible, you no longer have the right to practice your faith. I bet you're a member of this bunch of dickheads:

Further conclusive proof of what I always say: Hypocrisy, thy name is Fundie.
"the law of the land at that time"
A couple of hundred years ago, it was completely legal to take other human beings and buy & sell them as slaves. A few hundred years ago, it was legal to burn or hang other human being suspected of Witchcraft. Just because something's legal, doesn't mean to say it's right. The reverse is true too. In Biblical times, it was legal to stone to death other people who picked up sticks on the Sabbath, yet it's completely illegal to do so nowadays. Care to explain why, Ynot?
"Had he been a paedophile,I wonder how many people would be looking for an apology?"
Just as an iPod is an MP3 player, but not all MP3 players are iPods, as Pederasts are male abusers of boys, not all paedophiles are Gay. Two Words: Gary Glitter.
I'll be waiting for your apology, Ynot. You can reply right here in this thread on FSTDT. Using the very thing developed by the 'lawbreaking homosexual' Alan Turing.
