Evolution doesn't give a damn if an individual is fit. Evolution's only concern is perpetuation of a species.

And yes, I realize I'm anthropomorphizing evolution here but it's the easiest way to explain it to such dullards, or any of the Rapture Ready crowd who happens by this way.

Fine. I will. Homosexual individuals have been recorded since the earliest civilizations. I'd a pretty good bet that if they were some sort of threat to the survival of the species we wouldn't be at six fucking billion people and counting.

Direct fitness is not the only means of propagating one's genes. In the wild there are many examples of indirect fitness, of animals that forgo an attempt at reproduction in favor of helping their relatives reproduce for one reason or another. They still pass on part of their genome, they just aren't the donor.

And survival applies to the individual. The individuals best adapted to their environment(s) are the most likely to survive. Whether or not homosexual individuals survive depends on many factors, the same ones that determine whether a heterosexual individual survives. The fittest are the best at passing on their genes one way or another (see above).

1. Not ever mutation makes the creature fitter. The mutations are not upgrades, either it works out better for the person (not having impacted wisdom teeth) or it works out badly (not having legs).

2. We, as a social species have mutations that are good for the clan. Homosexuality can be seen as a plus in this situation. They are extra non-breeding members that help feed/protect the young.

3. AIDS is a virus, it doesn't have any fucking morals. It is caused by HIV which MUTATED from the PIV virus. It is believed that the original disease mutated in a hunter who had killed an infected ape. Unfortunately, in order to save money, humanitarian groups (including Christian ones) were not using the best sterilization techniques when doing vaccinations. Thereby spreading it from person to person, much like junkies do, through needle sharing. Not their fault really, they cut corners in order to try and help as many as they could. They didn't know the damage they were causing.

4. Why am I seeing a gay porn of X-Men in valu777's video collection? Talk to a few of them, they're really not scary. And yes, I would trust one (that I personally knew) to babysit my kids.

I forgot to mention that in tests with lab rats, over population seems to cause an increase in homosexual children, so could this "gay mutant takeover" actually be the cause of idiots like quiverfull who believe you aren't a real woman unless you spit out 20 spawn? Nah, couldn't be.

When the population of a species starts going up, said species will produce more homosexual animals to prevet over populating.

Hetrosexuals aren't innocent when it comes to AIDS either. One of the highest recorded rates of AIDS is amoungst straights in Africa.

Our population is at 6 billion plus and thousands of babies are being born daily.

Bzzzzt! Wrong. It’s survival of the fittest GENE POOl that nature is going for. Individuals don’t evolve. Populations do.
If for some reason the gene pool gains a benefit from adult members that contribut to group survival but don’t usually have offspring (different from infertile, idiot), then they’ll tend to retain that trait and pass it along.
Gay members do not have to reproduce as long as the adults that had gay kids do.

HIV does not have a sexual preference preference. As it happens, gay behavior and conservative politics enhanced the transmission of HIV, but it’s not limited to gay males.

Dude, they’re not mutants. We’ve had gay members of the species for all of history. MANY other species also have shown same-sex attraction. There seems to be a benefit or at the very least gay members are not lethal trait to any species.
