In other words, it doesn't matter if you've lived a good, productive life after all. A serial killer can enter heaven, if he accepted Jesus Christ before his death. However, the victims that he tortured and murdered might go to hell - if they hadn't accepted Jesus. Yeah, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this picture whatsoever!

This passage is referring to the bodies of the living and of the dead. Their souls, however, are either in Heaven or in Hell. (Luke 16:22-23, Psalm 9:17, Luke 23:43). At the Resurrection, our bodies will be reunited with our Souls: the righteous unto the Resurrection of Life, and the unrighteous unto the resurrection of destruction. (Revelation 20:13, Revelation 20:14, Matthew 25:46).

As I stated: When a person comes to faith in Jesus Christ, he or she will continue walking in faith. Unrepentant murderers, sodomites, etc., will be cast into Hell. No true Christian would commit murder. Ephesians 2:8-10 says it even better:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Okay, Brent, something I've been wondering about for a while. You say that the only way to Heaven is to accept Jesus, because all men are evil/sinful and deserve to pay for their sins, but that accepting Jesus will allow your sins to be forgiven and you to go to Heaven. My one question is- why? If Jesus died for our sins, why do we need to accept him in particular? It seems kind of odd to me that someone willing to make such a great sacrifice to save mankind would require someone to accept him in particular- why can't he just forgive us all without such an arbitrary prerequisite? Is it because we need to repent of our sins? If it is, why do you need to repent to Jesus in particular? I'd think that Jesus could be flexible enough to forgive anyone who tries their best to be a good person and who is truly sorry for any wrongs they may have done.
Furthermore, if God is all-powerful, couldn't he create a system that would allow more people to be saved, given that he apparently loves us all and doesn't want us to burn in Hell for eternity? It seems kind of odd to me that such a flawed system is the best an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving being could do.
Hell is, like reality, your eyes and ears and other senses. Believe that you see, hear and something, and it will be. Remember, there is no spoon!
