i personally dont see why they feel the public doesnt need to see this side of life why do we have to live in this pretend dream that everything is ok when this young man is ranting and raving to the camera he is speaking his mind everytime a suicide bomber blows himself he makes a manifesto beforehand and we are shown it i beleive the video should be made public to know what made this man do this what drove him to this point what were his set offs to decide to carry this out AND i beleive the public needs to be aware that there are EVIL people in the world and disturbed people and i beleive everyone should have a right to access this mans video to know why to see what was going through his head what were his angsts.

ok, the site is fundy, but this argument is not so nuts. i personally agree that the videos should be available for those who want to see what the heck was going through these peoples minds.

Well, the part about being shown the manifesto of every suicide bomber is just empty rhetoric. Just how many have you seen? At last count, my total was zero.
Put it this way. Let´s asume that you can write and spell properly, do you have any good argument for publisising something that should be in only in hands of the police?, in my country it´s called, SENSATIONALISM.
*shrug* as a pending member of Teh Ebil Media, I agree. In discussing NBC's decision to air the tape with my classmates and coworkers, we all mostly came to the same conclusion: that the questions everyone was asking, "Why did he do this? Who is this guy? What was he thinking?" would best be answered by showing the tape, showing the murderer's mental state and telling his story in his own words, rather than trying to explain it in ours.
If he's saying we should be allowed to see the video, I guess there's not much argument against that, although I agree with the decision of national media not to show it to all of us. That being said, I can't see much benefit to watching the incoherent rantings of the mentally ill. As one psychiatrist pointed out, you can give people like Cho medication, and a day or so later, they will have no understanding of why they felt the way they did, and will readily admit they were nuts. They may not even remember their lunatic rantings.
Dude, it's called a full stop (or in the US, a "period"). There it is right under the L key. Use it. I just did. See, right there. And now I'm about to use it again.
I agree with the general tenor of the comments here. If we say that something should not be shown to the public we are saying that somebody should be able to decide what we are allowed to know. Once you grant that power to somebody other than yourself, you have granted that other power over your very thoughts.
