The journalists, of course, caught up in the ebullience of making such societal progress, aren't even aware of that coming judgment that is almost upon a world ripe for the wrath of God.

All those centuries of socially pressuring & shaming (and threatening) homosexuals into heterosexual relationships. All those children born of those relationships. It has been allowed to continue in many countries. It's still about 5-10 percent of the population, and has little or no impact on the existence of the human race.
Gay marriage has very little to do with abortions.

For fuck's sake, Terry. People have been having gay sex since humanity began, whether it was allowed or not, gay marriage aside. So, by your reasoning, "if allowed to continue [as it has for millennia upon millennia] the human race would die." What would change?

Everyone rational can deduce that the proportion of the population that feel an attraction to the same sex is much smaller than those that do, so there is no concern about birth rates dropping at an alarming rate. Besides, with the human population expanding to the point where we've overstretched beyond the capability for us to support ourselves, and with the looming threat of global warming, you would have to dig deep to find a convincing argument for the need for humanity to produce more babbies (sic).
