Proponents of "choice" don't want to force women to have abortions? Since when? China does it now. And if you think for a minute that justifying abortion morally and legally does not translate into forced abortion as a realistic means of population control in the future, then you are not being honest with yourself.

Ok, listen carefully, dkb. Legalizing something is not the same as forcing it upon someone. Why is that so hard to understand? It's legal for me to have a surgical facelift, but nobody is going to force me to have one. It's simply my CHOICE.
China doesn't do it, they have a One child per family policy, and everyone wanted boys, as girls cost money to raise and then they get married and move to the husband's mother. Now, after years and years of this policy, there is a shortage of women for all the pampered little boys to marry, so the women can basically demand whatever they want from the boys' families.
No, we don't want to force women to do anything, it should be their choice whether to continue with the pregnancy or not. Women are also free to choose to stay pregnant and have the baby, whether or not they are married.
Ya know, it's probably easier for a totalitarian regime that prohibits abortions to later mandate abortions, as the subjects there are accustomed to follow orders. People who are used to having it their own way won't be as easy to persuade to have abortions even when they don't want to. Asshole!
