[In response to a story about a law trying to mandate gender-neutral bathrooms in public school for transgendered students, among other things.]
Er - EWWW!! What about all those people who are perfectly FINE being their own gender and want to be modest. Infact 'want' isnt the right word. Even if i didnt want to be modest (perish the thought) then i would still be modest, because that is what God has commanded us to be. So gender-neutral bathrooms would be persecuting Christians.

Gah.
Did you ever think that a homosexual might be using your gender-specific bathroom? Oops, now you have to insist on separate bathrooms for Christians.
What a 'tard.
So it's ok for disabled people to have neutral bathrooms, but you can't be expected to deal with it?
What the hell is it about you that makes you think you are so much better than the rest of us that you cannot put your holier-than-thou arse on the same seat as the rest of us and wipe your rose smelling cheeks with the same paper?
No one is asking you to urinate or defecate with an audience. You would sit in a cubicle the same as any other toilet. Gender-neutral bathrooms don't persecute people. Fundie christians persecute people.
Er, how is a gender-neutral restroom persecuting Christians any more than a gender-specific one?
Do you feel oppressed by a Port-A-Potty? Are latrines infringing on your rights? Here's an interesting one: Does your home have separate toilets for men & women?
Get real. The only reason you're upset is because you don't like the idea of transgendered people being accepted as people in society.

How? We wouldn't be forced to use them.
If I read that right, they would be an additional offering in addition to the mens and womens restrooms.
Anyone else read it that way? "
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Greg Daniels comes to the rescue AGAIN! I love this guy so far.
@Scarlet: There needs to be an image macro for missionaries that works as well as the one for inhabitants of third world countries. Probably with one of them saying "the fuck?", or "Persecution, my ass". Yours is the best post in the thread to date.
This girl´s debate tactics are oniricall, kafkian and confusing, to say the least. Is she implying that a woman who dresses like a whore is not satisfied with her own gender?, or a man who wears tight jeans and wife-beaters isn´t either?. In which way peeing in a bathroom is going to make you less modest?, what does the bathroom have to do with modesty?, what does it have to do with TRANSGENDERS?. Moreover, since when doing something that it´s not in some canonical religious dogma is persecuting?, are we persecuting Hindus for eating cow?, are we persecuting muslims and Jews for eating pork?, are we persecuting white supremacists for not hating non-whites?. I insist, where did you learn to debate?(or to read and write, for that matter)
That it NOT persecuting Christians. YOU don't have to go into the gender neutral bathrooms.
And seriously shut the fuck up about persecution. You don't fucking know persecution until you live in a country where you can be arrested, tortured, and killed for your faith.
What about all those people who are perfectly FINE being their own gender and want to be modest. I think the point is that not everyone is exactly like you.
Though I'd probably actually vote for a third bathroom rather than to make the existing bathrooms gender-neutral due to my own cultural hangups, really they're a good idea. Women tend to take more time in the bathroom than men, which means the queues are longer for us, so it's fairer to be gender-neutral or make the women's bathrooms bigger than the men's (zomgsexism!!). And in cubicles without a urinal immediately visible you'll get your precious privacy. Probably better to build a third bathroom rather than knock down existing ones, and as we collectively Get Over It start to have big gender-neutral ones with cubicles.
Being forced to accept other people as people != persecution.
This person would have a heart attack if they ever saw me in a crowded public place. When there is a line for the women's bathroom and no line for the men's, I just go into the men's!
PERSECUTION!!1!!111!!1!
Edit: Er, yes. What Flipper said.
I got a lot of homework last night. That's proof that they're persecuting Christians.
I didn't win the lottery this week. That's proof that they'repersecuting Christians.
My steak came bake well done, when I only wanted it medium. That's proof that they're persecuting Christians.
I stubbed my toe. That's proof that they're persecuting Christians.
Besides, what about the people who are fine being modest?, the question is, what about those who want to be the way they are?
I think there ought to be a rule that single-seat bathrooms should be signed as unisex -- there's no real need to have men's and women's rooms when the rooms in question are completely private to begin with.
Now if there's more than one toilet, not so much. I mean, if you're going to do that, you may as well have a spare cot in the handicapped stall just in case couples want to... "watch each other".
So gender-neutral bathrooms would be persecuting Christians.
no, that would be persecuting people who have genetic problems. i dont see how christians have anything to do with that.
Er - EWWW! Fundie tolerance in a nutshell: If it grosses me out, get it banned.
This person would have a heart attack if they ever saw me in a crowded public place. When there is a line for the women's bathroom and no line for the men's, I just go into the men's! What I don't get is how places that have one-room bathrooms (that is, not a room of cubicles but a small room with one toilet) insist on one of them being for men and the other for females. Hello? What's the reason for keeping them separate? If I go in there and a woman goes in there after I've left, it's not as if she sees me with my pants around my legs.
I have to admit I wouldn't want SHARED bathrooms, but that's not the same as gender-neutral, and Yixzy seems to be missing that point. Even then, stalls have DOORS. And, of course, anyone trying to peek is committing a crime.
Also, your God gave you free will, for fuck's sake. Use it.
EWWW!!
Typical idiot response.
What about all those people who are perfectly FINE being their own gender and want to be modest.
Well, what about them?
So gender-neutral bathrooms would be persecuting Christians.
I wasn't aware the bathroom at the local gas station was killing and torturing christians.
Just one question: Isn't your bathroom at home a 'gender-neutral' bathroom?
So what is so immodest about it, and why does it persecute you?
cubicles
where you can lock yourself in and be modest
then wash your hands with the other grown ups.
Men don't stand in washrooms waving their penises around and having pissing contests!!
Really, you're all getting more and more paranoid each passing day, aren't you?
Everything now you don't like, you call persecution, but you're still the majority religion in the country.
Try visiting a psychiatry, because you're really in need of one.
Yes, every time the world does not comply with your view, and make you all feel special and fuzzy, we're persecuting you.
You hear that? That's the sound of a thousand martyrs spinning in their graves.
Sweden used to be more of a Christian nation than America has ever been, as America has its non-religiousness instilled in the Constitution. About a hundred years or so ago there was not only gender-neutral outhouses (forerunners of "bathrooms"), they were outhouses with several holes in them. That was where you had one-on-one discussions, or three-on-three debates. Nowhere else was the slightest inkling of privacy, and everyone knew how babies were made, as the whole family lived in one single room. And still they grew up to be devout Christians.
So, gender-neutral bathrooms, which would in no way affect your right to use the "normal" bathrooms, is "persecuting Christians" (I love how everything's about you), but telling someone they can't marry someone of the same sex isn't persecution at ALL... Gotta love that sound logic! Oh wait...
We had three bathrooms beside each other in school. One was for men, one for women and the one in between for both men and women. Nobody ever saw a problem with that, but then again, we have very few bigoted idiots over here.
Transgender persons are fine in THEIR gender and they too might want to be modest (whatever the hell that means).
God made us to be born naked, so that must be the neutral, natural state. Right?
What you cover up becomes much more interesting than what you show, dumbass.
I'm sorry, I read this quote three times, and y'know...I'm damned if I can find the part where Yixzy, or indeed, any of these children, are forced, in any capacity to use these facilities. Not to mention, I doubt the kids would really care that it's just a bathroom, and not a Wo/Men's Room, particularly if it's just cubicles, as I'm sure it would be. Further, men don't just shuck their pants when they enter the facilities, as I'm sure women don't either, so it's not like you're gonna get flashed unless you're really looking. Finally...THIS is persecution? Fuuuck...do the words "thin skinned" mean anything to you?
I usually use the disabled stalls since I generally need to adjust my clothing and stretch and realign my bad joints. Would I use a unisex bathroom? It doesn't make a difference to me, really, but I wouldn't want to use a men's bathroom simply because - sorry guys - they piss everywhere . I have two brothers and two bathroom-aged nephews. I know this. I don't oppose unisex bathrooms, all I ask is men take a bit more dignity in pissing and/or not fapping all over the place. That's right, anonymous men. I catch trains.
What about all those people who are perfectly FINE being their own gender and want to be modest.
Being transgendered has NOTHING to do with 'immodesty'. End of story.
"Yixzy", your silly rant is nothing but an badly disguised attempt of a smear campaign. And you are NOT prosecuted.
Confused?
