Rape should not be a standalone crime at all. Rape is considered a crime purely because it affects a woman's honor. If rape involves restraint or coercion, or threats, or violence, those are separate crimes and should be treated as such. But the mere act of inserting a penis in a vagina: Why is that potentially such a heinous crime?
The answer is it all boils down to feelings. She is "violated".
The mere fact of considering rape to be a crime demonstrates inequality. Women are special, fragile creatures, and if they have sex they didn't particularly want, or later regretted, it must be that heinous of crimes, rape. They are fragile, vulnerable, helpless creatures and must be coddled like fine china.
When sex is criminalized, we are doomed.

It isn't sex itself that is criminalized, you complete fucking dolt. It's the forced nature of it, that fact that it is done without consent. This isn't about 'buyer's remorse'. This is about the actual violation of another person's body for one's own selfish goals.
If you are too god damned stupid to understand that, the next time we'll be seeing you is on CNN in a courtroom, where you will no doubt be setting a precedent by presenting this most inane of all arguments.

And I would bet that if a man forcibly, against your will shoved his dick up your ass, you too would feel violated.
The most obvious response to this is, of course, "you've no objection to someone much stronger than you fucking you up the arse, then?"
Obviously, all rape does involve restraint, coercion, threats, violence or a combination thereof, but if we were to take these as completely separate crimes, as in "He wouldn't let me leave the room for an hour" they are quite trivial in comparison. No doubt this is what he wants, and like most of the other ignoramuses featured on FSTDT, he would only change his mind about something if it happened to himself.
I could make a cheap crack about his chosen moniker but I've decided not to.
Shortest Straw: "Rape should not be a standalone crime at all. Rape is considered a crime purely because it affects a woman's honor. It all boils down to feelings. She is "violated"."
Random Person: "So if you should ever go to jail and get buttraped in there, it would all boil down to *your* feeling of having been "violated"?"
Shortest Straw (furious): "Vaginas are SUPPOSED to get penises inserted into them! Asses, especially *male* asses, are NOT! So it ISN'T THE SAME THING!!!"
You misunderstand this so badly I think you may actually be a sociopath. What if I were to enter your house and write horrible racial epitaphs over every surface? You'd feel violated. Now imagine my defense was this disgustingly patronizing drivel about how you're trying to criminalize my art or writing.
You also misunderstand why a rapist rapes. It's rarely, if ever, about the actual sex. It's about being in power and having control over someone else.
Ok, we need to get Anonymous and Seal Team 6 to do a co-op mission. Anonymous would first track this guy down. Then, Seal Team 6 would get some professional psychopaths together, escort them to Shortest Straw's house, and record the rapefest and put it on Youtube. This guy deserves nothing less.

Men can be raped too you know? Rape victims shouldn't be viewed as fragile or weak; rape is a gross violation of someone's consent and personal boundaries that can have extremely serious repercussions, especially mentally. Realising this is not an example of sexism.
"The mere fact of considering rape to be a crime demonstrates inequality. Women are special, fragile creatures..."
It would only be inequality if rapes against men weren't illegal too.
"...and if they have sex they didn't particularly want..."
If they don't want to have sex and you make them have sex- it's rape. You have to be pretty dumb to not be able to grasp that simple concept.
"... or later regretted, it must be that heinous of crimes, rape."
Except where regretting sex you consented to and were capable of consenting to at the time is not considered rape under any legal statute.
It's like he had a half decent thought somewhere in his mind, and this is the filtered shitty version of it. I will admit, there are quite a few aspects of the current dialogue concerning rape that does try to treat women like fragile flowers. That being said the current situation is an improvement over the days a tape allegation would be swept under the rug as a matter of normal practice, ain't nobody but the MRAest of MRAs pretending that was preferable lol
Rape is a crime because it is an huge trespass on the body of someone.
There is a huge difference between consented sed and unconsented sex, much like the differfence between an employee and a slave.
Rape is considered a crime purely because it affects a woman's honor.
That, and that incredible physical and mental trauma thing.
Let's turn it to the mere act of inserting a penis in an anus. Why is that potentially such a heinous crime?
The answer is it all boils down to feelings. He's "violated".
When sex is criminalized, we are all indeed doomed.
Shortest Straw, you need to tell your male friend that they just have to stand up and face it, right? Males are not like fine china, right? They'll just "toughen up an take it like a man".
> You know, it's still rape if a woman has sex with a man who doesn't want it.
[shortest straw]Impossible. Men always want it.[/shortest straw]
> Can we please stop with the jail-rape jokes? It's vile.
+1
Are you aware of a way to rape someone which does not involve restraint, coercion, threats, or violence? If someone inserted a foreign object into any other part of one's body without their consent, would that not also be illegal?
The civilized world reached the conclusion some time ago that a woman's body belongs to the woman, who therefore has the absolute right to decide who can insert his penis into her vagina, and when.
As for women being "fragile, vulnerable, helpless creatures," have you ever met an actual woman? Have you ever heard of Rosie the Riveter? Have you ever heard of the Israeli Defence Force?
Do you have a fucking brain?
There's a difference between consensual and non-consensual sex, you sick fuck.
Rape isn't illegal & immoral because it's sex. It's forbidden because it's non-consensual! That's the VERY DEFINITION of rape, dumbasss! It's because the victim's own body is violated, you psycho!
I hope you get assraped by a rusty pole in prison.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
