But the textbook you would have used for your college course doesn’t list assumptions. It lists what they are pretty sure to be true AND will discuss how they came to this conclusion. I begin to wonder if it’s your older sister who went to a biology course…

Geologists use index fossils to start their aging, but that’s not definitive.
On the other hand, if a strata is 4 million years old, it’s hard to imagine a fossil inside it being 9 or 2 million years old, what?

Nothing in evolutionary theory says that God does not exist or was not involved in biology. They’re trying to figure out WHAT happened, but the ‘why’ for it is still open to superstitious interpretation.
