The Koran is false. Why are there no Muslim apologists? Because they don't have any evidence whatsoever.
Let me know when Islamic apologists are writing books in droves.

Maybe muslims feel that there is no need to design an entire social role to apologise for their religion.
Seriously though, there are. They're kinda like Jehovah's Witnesses. They wander from house to house, ask you to "come to the mosque this evening brother and turn in prayer to the Almighty. Can you not witness all that he has gifted to you" blah blah blah....
There is also an entire publication industry with little bits, mostly about nature and its beauty and bounty and how it would not be possible without god. Lots of stuff on how Jesus was never crucified and that the Christians are very wrong. The silliness of worshipping idols.
You need to do some research before you let your brain leak onto the keyboard.
"The Koran is false."
Yes. I know. So is your book.
"Why are there no Muslim apologists?"
There are. I'm sure if you learned Arabic you'd find they're just as insidious as the Christian apologists.
By the way, it's always struck me as being a bit strange that something that's supposed to be "The Truth" and "God's Word" and the "only way to salvation" should need people to make up excuses for why it doesn't hold up to the slightest scrutiny.
"Because they don't have any evidence whatsoever."
Doesn't seem to hinder your side any. I can't imagine why it would bother the Muslim apologists either.

Learn Arabic. You'll probably find a whole host of them. Likely they'll extend back even further than your own religion's attempts since they were literate, well educated and philosophically minded while your ancestors were in Europe wallowing in filth, illiterate, uneducated and trying not to starve to death during the Dark Ages. Obviously they were too busy with other things to be doing much apologetics work.
What I think is funny is that the Hindus wrote hundreds of scrolls and writings thousands of years before Christianity was invented..yet he just completely ignores that.
Also, more and more Islamic apologists are translating to english now.
The Koran is false.
Really? Wow. Because you know most of it is based on the OT and the NT - it tells some stories exactly the same and changes things only slightly believing that your authors "got it wrong." Islam is traditionally an oral tradition, I'm sure there has always been those kind, but maybe not as written down.
Well, they're not all as stupid as Self-Mutation, because a quick Google search on "Islamic Apologists" brings up mostly Christian blogs trying to counter "Islamic Apologists."
But, seriously...
Oh, and they don't actually predate Christian apologists...but then, the ink was barely dry on last books of the Bible before people began making apologies for it. And that gives them a few hundred years' head start. Oh, and when most of Europe was illiterate and wallowing in filth, most people thought this WAS the only reason for literacy. Hence the clerics were the literate class. What a waste of literacy.
"appologetics" is another word for Excuses.
"Why are there no Muslim apologists?"
Because there are several thousand of them.
"Let me know when Islamic apologists are writing books in droves"
Well you can start with the early medival period, in which moderate Islamic applogists started writing appologetics (excuses) for their religions failure to influence China.
Then on to the great appologists of the Mongolian period who wrote to appease their Mongol masters.
Then the French and English colonial period (19th century) when again Islamic appologists wrote to appease their foreign masters.
And finaly the modern period of Islamic appologetics... Which consists of writing to appease yet another foreign master. (guess who)
Just did a Google search on "islamic apologists." Google says there are about 11 million responses.
Didn't bother checking any of them out, though.
But, what I've always wondered is why would a True religion even need one apologist. If there really is a god who had written (or inspired) a holy book, it would be so clear that everyone would be able to understand it and no one would be able to refute it. Ergo, it's all Caca del Toro.
Because the Muslims were not inspired by the Greek philosophy as much as the early Christians were. Islam is about 400 years younger than Christianity.
The Quran was written by Muhammed, on direct orders from God. The ten commandments were written, or brought, by Moses, on direct orders from God. What's the big diff? There is as much evidence of the Quran being "true", as there is of the Bible being "true". If anything, it seems like God did not get the result he wanted with Moses, Abraham and Jesus, so he tried one more time, with Muhammed.
According to Wikipedia: The term comes from the Greek word apologia, meaning a speaking in defense.
Not really excuse, but not far from it...
"Let me know when Islamic apologists are writing books in droves."
Avicenna, Persian philosopher, 980 to 1037 CE.
He wrote almost 450 treatises on a wide range of subjects, of which around 240 have survived. He was also the founder of Avicennian logic and the philosophical school of Avicennism, which were influential among both Muslim and Scholastic thinkers. Avicenna was a devout Muslim and sought to reconcile rational philosophy with Islamic theology. His aim was to prove the existence of God and his creation of the world scientifically and through reason and logic. (WP)
So, only a thousand years behind the times then.

@ wackadoodle, D. Laurier :
Actually... "apology" in that sense comes from the Greek apologia , which means "in defense of". The OP is (amazingly) literate enough to use it correctly rather than using the modern meaning of "Sorry!"...
Mind you, I'd like to see more Christian and Muslim apologists (modern meaning), but that's another story!
*shoots Self-Mutation in the head*
Self-Mutation : "Hey... what was that for... that really hurt!"
Dammit... the head is not a life supporting organ with this one.
They are. You just don´t speak Arabic and are not interested, so, your confirmation bias doesn´t enable you to do it. You know, there is another world, apart from United States.
...well, maybe because the non-fundie Muslims are secure enough in their beliefs that they don't need to do what fundie Christains think they have to, to justify their own insane, nay, heretical, Paulianity, o Self-Mutilation?
Confused?
