That is just fucking heartbreaking, I feel so sorry for your daughter and for the children that she'll mother one day. And most of all I feel sorry for you, to be cursed with such blighted ignorance that will poison your many generations to come, all in the name of a loving god.
That's something sane people call "post-traumatic stress". It comes from being sent to (occasionally by parent santioned kidnapping) a place where the teen will be run through military style disciplinary training with none of the rights soldiers have, all excempt from prison regulations or anything similar. All this is in an effort to break the will of the teen to make him or her utterly submissive to authority. No shit she has problems. Nobody should have to go through that.

Actually I was more shocked by the other replies in that thread. I lost count how many people _boasted_ about blackmailing their children to adhere to the religion of the parents.
What sort of person is able and willing to throw their own child out if s/he doesn't follow their dogma??? They're taking vulnerable kids in no-options situations and bullying them into submission. And they're proud of it!!

Damn it these people piss me off! Please get your daughter some REAL help instead of sending her to those ridiculous Christian boot (abuse) camps! And no, screaming and hand washing are not teh fucking DEEMUNZ, they are a sign of a more serious problem. I feel really sorry for your daughter. Children's Services should be able to intervene in situations like this - before it's too late and a child is seriously injured or killed. I'm all for respecting others' beliefs, but not when it leads to abuse, which is exactly what you are doing to your child by not getting her proper help.

I'd like to comment, since I have OCD myself which led to several (separate, at different times) nervous breakdowns, before I finally "came out" to my parents and got medication which just may have saved my life.:
BUT, this could be a troll. I'd love to send her *ehugs* and *emedication* if I could. Eff, I'd send her my medication if that's what it would take to help her feel better and get well. I can't say that it's the worst mental illness out there, but when you start to get so paraniod that you're not sure something is real/true or not, you NEED help, and not the religious kind. The medical kind has saved my life and my sanity on more than one occasion.
I'm sorry. My point: I hope the Mom gets her the real help she needs, as the kind she has given so far (i.e., religious) only made me feel worse.

It could still be OCD. The PTSD story is much more delicious, but OCD manifests in some weird ways.
Granted "She screams a lot, and washes her hands" is not really grounds for a diagnoses...

Behavior Modification camps for children/teens should be illegal. The abuse and dehumanizing that goes on in those places is sickening and tragic.

In the original post, it mentions her husband taking out her daughter's piercings while she was asleep! I hope they were above her neck, and even if they were, what the hell is these peoples' *problem*?

Does that mean that previously, her frequent hand-washing was a sign of not loving god? So...cleanliness is no longer next to godliness? BE UNCLEAN FOR JESUS.
Also, I have mild OCD, and I wasn't aware that screaming for no reason was a typical symptom. I'm not a psychiatrist though, so I don't really know.
However, I doubt his woman even knows what OCD stands for, much less the typical behavior of someone who has it and the potential causes for it.

This is somewhat reminiscent of the boy with schizophrenia who was born into a family of Scientologists. They refused to get him the appropriate medical treatment, instead trying to cure him with vitamins (which inevitably did nothing) and he ended up stabbing his mother to death.
