You know, if, for the sake of argument, I stretch my mind a bit and take "abortion is murder" to be a fact, then I can see how abortion *could* be more important than poverty.

Well said Last Conformist, I guess someone ought to tell Jesus He was wrong since He never ever mentioned abortion or homosexuality in any of His messages But numerous times said poverty was VERY IMPORTANT. This post just goes to show you what the problem is with the Christian church today. They are NOT following the Jesus of the Bible. How in the name of God can you possibly read the Gospel account of Jesus' life in the Bible and come up with this??? It's impossible!

Abortion: The termination of nonsentient objects.
Gay marriage: Two people who love each other get special legal rights that most people already had. Sounds good.
Poverty: People dying and starving. A lot of people around the world don't even have basic necessities like ramen and Internet access.
No, I think poverty is actually a much worse problem than either of those combined.

Yes, who a consenting adult marries matter so much more than helping people who cannot even afford the basic so f life. And before we start helping people get off the streets, we should force women to have children they cannot afford, so they are forced into destitution, just so we have a REAL challenge when we get around to it.

We have to take care of all the people already born into this world before we worry about those not born yet. We are already way too many for this Earth, it can't sustain us much longer. We ought to adopt the Chinese one-child policy, throughout the whole world, until every newborn child is guaranteed enough food, clean water, love, care, employment and, you know, pursuit of happiness.
THEN we can start worrying about lumps of non-sentient cells that can't feel pain.
