In the end, we should all be grateful that we aren’t getting what we deserve which is perpetual unbearable suffering for our sin.

And you think this is the action of a just or loving god? Punishing someone forever for their actions over the span of one human lifetime is incredibly twisted and sadistic. It's not just punishment, either, it's torture. Most humans would consider torturing someone for even a limited amount of time to be absolutely monstrous, and yet you want us to think that this is justified, because it's your invisible Sky Fairy doing it? It's not just a sad worldview, I think it's a pretty frightening one. What someone who thinks this way might do to themselves, or to others, is frightening.
This is why I don't follow this crap anymore.
I'm not worthless, the church claims otherwise.
TO them, I'm so terribly dirty, sinful and disgusting, even at birth that the lawd wouldn't bother to cast his eyes on me.
Yah, huh? Well if god existed, I would give it a proud middle finger and a hearty, 'FUCK YOU'. Eternal torment? Loving and caring god my ass.
No one who ever lived or ever will live deserves "perpetual unbearable suffering" - not even an Adolf Hitler. Mind you, some people do deserve a good ass kicking. But, if there were really a just god, bad people might be punished for a finite period as part of a rehabilitation program, but they would then be made to understand the errors of their ways, be redeemed, and then go on to the same reward as all god's children. Infinite punishment is just cruel and pointless.
What sin would that be? The list in nearly endless to you people.
Even as a child, I could never see the sense of original sin. The whole race condemned because of what an ancestor did? That was just stupid.
Studying the Bible over the years hasn't made any of it more sensible or credible.
Your concept of hell is in direct conflict with your idealized view of your god.
Someday you'll realize that and we'll gain another convert.
So the theory is that God creates people in order to torture them.
Here's a statement by the Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, FL:
"We believe that man is totally depraved, a sinner (lost) by nature and by divine decree, therefore in need of the convicting and regenerating ministry of the Holy Spirit."
And from the Grace Landmark Baptist Mission in Modesto, CA:
"We believe that Adam was created in the image and likeness of God, yet he fell through the temptations of Satan; and his fall overthrew, not only himself, but his posterity, making them sinners by his disobedience; so that we are by nature children of wrath, and defiled from the womb, being shapen in iniquity and conceived in sin."
There's probably no talking to people this screwed up by their religion.
According to your big book of fairy tales, Adam and Eve were basically set up. Therefore, we all deserve perpetual unbearable suffering. Sorry, but even when I was a Christian, I couldn't swallow that one.
That's funny. Not to be cocky but I don't think I've done anything to deserve eternal suffering. I've never murdered anyone. I've never, say, killed all the newborn males in an African country. I've never had babies of an entire town smashed to death because the town wouldn't feed my ego. I've never sent anyone to a concentration camp that would make the Nazis look humane simply for not worshiping me correctly, and I don't plan on using famine and biowarfare to murder those who don't suck up to me.
What have I done to merit everlasting suffering?
JSS wins an internet!
Owned.
God is perpetually enraged at us and at any second, He may lose patience with us, smash us flat and send us to Hell to screaming away our sanity in never-ending torture for the rest of eternity. But He loves us unconditionally.
Okay.
"what we deserve which is perpetual unbearable suffering for our sin"
I've never killed millions with a global flood; so if *I* deserve "perpetual unbearable suffering" for whatever I've done in my life, what does your god that killed untold millions with a global flood (including children in the womb) deserve?
Hitler killed millions and is labeled one of history's most horrible mass murderers; your god kills millions and he is worshiped as a "savior".
Confused?
