Yes i too am leary of "secular psychology/counseling" whatever you want to call it..... It's all garbage!
I remember taking one of my son's for counseling (one session) when he was younger b/c i was concerned about anger issues.... she talked so over my head and made me so uncomfortable i never went back.. She was making excuses for his behavior; giving me tests to take; asking about my parenting if we spanked, etc, etc. Everything anti-biblical....
I do think it's a tool satan has used and continues to use to delude us into believing a lie.. More people just need to take responsibility for their actions and read the Word and you'll find ALL the help you will ever need to overcome..

I actually wonder if read the Bible and how those guys who used such "biblical" methods turned out to be(you know, rapists, tyrants almost killed by their subjects, killers..........)

So did praying your son's problems away work, or did you just decide that Satan's hold on him was too strong and it was best to write him off?
And as far as the counselor talking over your head, did it ever occur to you to ask her to explain herself? I know that asking questions of your pastor is forbidden, but legitimate counselors and therapists are quite used to them. That's a large part of what makes them more useful than pastors.

Kinda agree with the first sentence. Most Phychiatric shit is well documented as effective as talking to your bartender. Don't get me started on low-trained agenda-driven counselers.
The Biblical answer for your childs anger issues is to stone him. So even the ever useless captain obvious (has no one said "well der" on his show yet? Should be a drinking game by now if the show was real) Dr Phil might be better than looking in the Bible.
