Hey, all!
I am REALLY struggling with this -- it seems as if (practically) over night, many of my "Christian" friends and family have come to conclusion that "peace, acceptance and love of/for everyone" is the right way to eternal life. Suddenly, I'm hearing things like, "Everyone goes to Heaven" and "Muslims and Christians can work together to bring peace."
I don't know what is going on, but I need to speak up and speak out. Can ya'll help?

Yes...tell them that blind faith, intolerance, militarism, and arbitrary association with your divine leader is the only way to prosperity!
After applying the duct tape liberally around your mouth (as originally suggested by Thinking Allowed), superglue-ing your face to your bible (as originally suggested by Grigadil), tie several cinder blocks around your neck, and go for a nice, relaxing swim.
Very calmly sit your family down, preferably after dinner. Let them know you love them and you don't understand the Golden Rule. Then sit still and listen to them explain. After they are done explaining, if you have reasonable questions, ask. As they are answering, continue to sit still and listen. Repeat as long as necessary.
Certainly!
There is very simple exercise you can do almost anywhere, and at any time!
It's called "STFU and MYOB."
If you practice this easy-to-master exercise, you'll find that your problems with those friends and family members will just go away entirely on their own, almost immediately!
Be prepared to hate the Hindu faith too. In Hinduism, even a half-hearted search for enlightenment is credited to the person's "karma account". This "credit" translates into a better status in one's next incarnation than one might receive otherwise.
Now that's a theist idea I can respect. By the way, I wish you Christians would stop converting the Hindus. It seems like the second they bow to the old rugged cross they forget how to make a really slamming curry or vindaloo. I'll put up with a lot but I won't stand for you b******s screwing around with my all-time favorite food.
Those assholes at RR act as is "peace", "acceptance" and "love" are the dirty four-letter words of the 21st century. Such acceptance makes you guys look like shitbags, and that disappoints you doesn't it?
You know, I seem to recall some liberal Jewish hippie saying something along the lines of "love your enemies".
@WMDKitty: It's doubtful Jubilee on Earth is a poe. He/she/it simply has too many posts on RR for that to be the case.
Wow. "Help, I want to be outspoken, but I'm too stupid to think of anything to say! Please write my speeches for me!"
Say, have you considered running for president?
Yes, we can help. Put this on. It's a necklace. The little container has pig's blood. Oh, and we're going to nuke Mecca and spray pig's blood on that, too.
Oh, yeah, good idea speak up and speak out. You won't have any friends or family left, but what the hell? You'll have all your close chums at Rapture Ready, whom you've more than likely never met in your life, and they'll be able to console you. Maybe you could even get together with some of them: what a party that would be!
All the same, if you're really struggling with this, perhaps you could try to consider that your 'Christian' friends and family might be right, and that your stupid fucking cult is demented.
fergus
Let me see if I get this straight:
1. RRmood ==> 0 if Wpeace ==> infinity
2. RRprob ==> infinity if Wpeace ==> 0
3. Whap = (Wpop - RRmem) * (RRmood / Wpeace)
where
RRmood is the mood of the Rapture Ready posters
Wpeace is World peace factor
RRprob is the probability of the Rapture happening
Whap is the World Happiness factor
RRmem is the total number of Rapture nuts in the world
Well, yes, there is a problem with what your friends are saying.
"Muslims and Christians NEED TO work together to bring peace."
There, fixed.
You're welcome.
Peace on Earth, goodwill toward men. That was Jesus' message. If you're against that, congratulations, you've escaped Christianity and entered a cult.
Yes, why don´t you believe them?. After all, they´re taking Jesus´s doctrine to the letter, unlike you.
Yeah, that must be horrible; people enjoying themselves and liking others indiscriminately. Can't have that, can we? Where are all the hatred, the bigotry, the demonizing of foreigners, that cozy feeling of distrust thy neighbor, for he might believe in another version of Jesus? Won't somebody think of the CHILDREN?
Er, where were we? Nope, sorry, can't help.
"I don't know what is going on, but I need to speak up and speak out. Can ya'll help?"
Nope, it would be much better for you to forget all of the real people in your life and go hide in a closet until The Rapture. Don't worry about food, I'm sure your god will provide for you. After all, you denounce the evils of peace, acceptance and love, surely you must be one of his/her/its favorites.
"Help! My friends have stopped hating everyone and everything. How do I make them start hating again?"
Yup, that's exactly what Jesus would do...
Hey, if God is omnibenevolent, then there’s nothing more important to Him than reducing suffering.
And any person in Hell faces an infinite amount of suffering.
Logically, if an omnibenevolent could do anything to prevent people from going to Hell, he would HAVE to take that action.
So, he’s have, HAVE to forgive everyone for their life on Earth and any sins they committed.
THe usual objections to this logic involve justice, and laws, and promises, and stuff. But, again, none of it can be more important to God than reducing suffering. And you can’t even pretend that he can stop seeing the suffering in Hell, because he’s OMNISCIENT!
So, yeah, you don’t want to share Heaven and Salvation with ALL of God’s children, it makes you less special. But it just doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
