Hundreds of years before Christ, Adam and Abraham were Christians? I can just see it, Abraham and his family going to church, Abe in his suit and tie, Mrs. Abe with her brand new Easter hat, praising God for not yet killing the son he doesn't have.

Actually, he was probably referring to this:
Adam wasn't anything . I mean, in the stories, he personally knew God. There was no faith involved; he could pop over to Big G's for a cold one whenever he felt like it.
He is basing this on the common Christian doctrine that those who lived after Christ are saved by their faith that he came to save mankind, and those who lived before Christ were saved by their faith that a savior would come to save mankind. This is frequently interpreted to mean that these pre-Christ faithful, by having faith in his eventual coming, qualify as "Christian."

Abraham could not even be meaningfully called Jewish, never mind Christian... now "muslim" in the sense of one who submits to God's will, yeah, that's actually a pretty reasonable way of looking at it.

Rickie is expressing the doctrine promoted by the Epistle of Barnabas. According to the author of that epistle, the patriarchs and the prophets were all Christians (not sure about Adam, but we'll include him for giggles). The author explains how the rank-and-file Jews misunderstood their holy scriptures (which, of course, were all about Christ) and were, in fact, never part of the holy covenant.
What? You say you haven' heard of the Epistle of Barbabas? Well, there's a good reason for that. In spite of its popularity at the time of the Council of Nicene, the Epistle of Barnabas was determined to be promoting a false doctrine and was excluded from the canon.
That's right Rick, according to your church fathers, you are promoting heresy. See you in hell.
