Not only do we have "registered life partnership" equivalent in nearly all aspects, most of our Lutheran church districts bless homosexual couples. In two of them, those are explicitely fully equivalent to a religious wedding ceremony.

PS: Also, those are all godless liberal churches that accept science and criticise capitalism, one third of the country is non-religious (although many are from the former GDR, where Christianity was discouraged as a rival of Marxism), our President openly lives with his mistress rather than his wife, our Chancellor is a woman, we have several turkish muslim politicians (one of them a leading opposition politician, another one Minister for social affairs in Lower Saxony and a member of the Christian Democratic Union), our economic system was explicitly founded not as as purely capitalistic but as a "social market economy" (by another CDU politician!) and we invented public health care (by conservative anti-communist Otto von Bismarck, at that).

Question: Why didn't Uganda so much as qualify for the World Cup from 1992 to today? Least of all in 2010: South Africa? Their record has been equally shitty in the Africa Cup competition.

Not just Andy's favorite tool but heavily used in religious and Creationist arguments all the time.

Andys 'Christians reign at sports in the Olympics' is always either ignoring other countries success, ignoring that even if the countries mostly Christian the Athletes are often not and just blatantly ignoring events where low Christian states win.

It's what lawyers do, talk up accomplishments and decent acts and ignore all other acts. At a debate between Fry and A Catholic Bishop exchange the Bishop pulled that up after the atrocities of his church were stated. "We cannot talk of the wrong the church has done, we must speak of it's good deeds "(paraphrased, great debate search it, Fry, Hitchens vs assclowns )

He insisted that Fry and Hitch shouldn't be allowed to bring up even the churches current (child abuse) and recent (condom banning in Aid ridden African Nations) at the debate. Many Churches still think they should be free of criticism and as this Bishop straight out demanded (got booed for it too) all the ills should be ignored.

American Churches if anything are worse for this, there is almost nothing an American Pastor could do that he wouldn't be defended for or absolved completely for. A fundie audience would cheer a statement about the churches immunity from criticism, they are making laws in the red states right now to protect them from any free speech lashback.

So, you think God destroyed the entire world for ‘wickedness.’
You think he nuked cities that were full of homosexuals.
You think he sent two she-bears to assault >40 kids who TAUNTED one of his prophets….

And when countries accept gay marriage, you think he was SO UPSET… He gave them a loss at football….
