Many "christians" supported (even violently) that the earth was flat several hundred years ago, but they were wrong. Those who support evolution today are also wrong.

Talk about your confused fundies. Charity first correctly states how early Christians were wrong about the Earth being flat, then does a complete 180 by stating that those who support evolution are also wrong. Evolution is just as proven as a spherical earth. If fundies had any honesty about them at all, they would be able to see that science has consistently proven their religion wrong.
"Many "christians" supported (even violently) that the earth was flat several hundred years ago, but they were wrong."
They supported the Bible assertions, but they were wrong. I'm with you so far.
"Those who support evolution today are also wrong."
OK, the wheels just fell off your wagon. Your analogy is completely backwards. As the Bible asserts supernatural creation, you must have meant "Those who support supernatural creation today are also wrong."
Ummmmm, Many "christians" supported (even violently) that evolution was heresy.
Oh and Cardinal Bellarmine said, "To assert that the Earth travels around the sun is as erroneous to assert that Jesus was NOT born of a virgin."
You do realize that in both situations it was/is the stupid and uneducated population who are in the majority as far as not believing in either principle, yes? The world was shown to be round by the Ancient Greeks and anyone who was properly educated hundreds of years ago could be taught the principles that brought them to that conclusion. Those who did not have such a background or chose to not listen, believed just in what they could see before their eyes. That is exactly how evolution is today and so I don't know where you intended to go with this little display, but it was among the worst possible examples ever. It's akin to saying that as a kid you used to think dogs had a complex and secret language that they would use to talk about you behind your back, but were proven wrong as you learned more about the world through experience and education. And then saying those who believe the planet Venus exists are also wrong.
“Many "christians" supported (even violently) that the earth was flat several hundred years ago”
And yesterday, because the Bible describes Earth as flat.
“ but they were wrong.”
Yes. Hewing to bronze-age myth is bad.
“Those who support evolution today are also wrong.”
Those that resist evolutionary science do so in order to maintain a literal interpretation of the Bible. Just like Flat Earthers.
They’re just as wrong, and for the same reason.
Confused?
