if God is a myth, then egypt, the babylonians and civilizations that come and go where also myth then like the romans or the jews

Huh? So God left HUGE pyramids as proof of his existence...? And, if I'm reading this right, you think that jews and romans are myths. Do humanity a favour and please, sterilize yourself!
Your god is like Atlantis. All we have to show that Atlantis might've existed is the writing of a third party. It might be based on reality, it might not be, but we have no way to prove or disprove it at this time and we may never be able to. On the other hand, we have mountains of primary sources that prove the existence of those civilizations you listed. In short, the sources you have that write about your god are unreliable sources.

If Sherlock Holmes was a myth, then London and Baker Street and Sussex Downs and Marylebone Road and the Bodleian Library and Dartmoor must be myth, too.
Same stupid logic.
"if God is a myth, then egypt, the babylonians and civilizations that come and go where also myth then like the romans or the jews"
No, but their gods certainly are myths... as is yours.
Then the FSM is a myth.
RAMEN!
All gods and religions are defined as myths. Look it up.
Ancient cultures which have left art, written history, archeological sites and artifacts, records by third parties etc, are not myths.
@colonel catastrophe, Lilith, and Lab Rat:
I'm pretty sure he wasn't saying that the Jews and Romans were myths. His post simply wasn't very well-articulated.
That said, however, his comment still fails logic forever.
What? Let me get this stright. You are seriously suggesting that our historical data are dependant upon belief in your God in order to be valid.
LOLWUT? Sir, this is the Gene Police. Please get out of the genepool immediately.
The people weren't myths, you imbecile!
Tell me, do you have to chant "In, Out, In, Out" all day to remind yourself to breathe?
Let's put it this way. God is a concept that has for it one collection of writings (which were written to fit the political circumstances of their respective times). Egypt, Babylon, many civilizations in the old AND new world, and people groups like Romans, Jews, and many many others left literally tons of physical evidence of their existence.
OK, I'm pretty sure this is not what he's trying to say, but I'd LOVE to see a fundie post that Jews are a myth. Then we could quote back the bible to them and I could call up my friend and tell her she's a myth propagated by satan and all that. Man, that could be worth a week of good laughs!
Man has invented almost 3000 gods (all "one-true", "all-seeing", "all-powerful") together with many more angels, devils, heavens and hells to go with it.
Problem is that these particular inventions started to rule us.
Religion - a man-made answer to a man-made question.
This is not a sentence. It makes no sense whatsoever. Where is the punctuation? The capitalisation of proper nouns?
To deal with this as best one can in the circumstances, the legacies of Egypt, Babylon, Rome and Judaism are cultural and concrete. Their descendents still walk the face of the planet.
God has yet to make such evidence available.
Let me try. Ahem, here goes: If Santa Claus is fictional, then reindeer, candy canes, pine trees and snow are also fictional.
Nah. Doesn't work. Only an idiot would believe something like that.
I don't know which is funnier, the quote itself, or the fact that the Fundie in question chose two Hindu gods as a screen name. First commandment, anyone?

I don't have a youtube account for the same reason I love to tell people I'm not Christian:
"I wouldn't want to be associated with people like that!"
Yes, they´re myths able to build pyramids, to invent agriculture, to make the biggest empire on earth, to create the most influencial religion in the world...............
"civilizations that come and go"
Well, since those Empires lasted over 3000 years and Roman influence is prevelanyt in the entire western world, so not gone really,
The New Worlds a myth by your logic, hardly come. Isreals a myth as it's been gone and reestablished in 1949 NOTHING LIKE IT WAS.
Your God isn't a long term empire with documented law, art, practices and OTHER GODS. Your God is myth, their Gods are myth but their cultures are very real.
“if God is a myth, then egypt, the babylonians and civilizations that come and go where also myth then like the romans or the jews”
Speaking of myths, and of Egypt, they never kept slaves. Archaeology shows that the entire premise of Moses leading the Jews from slavery is a myth.
So, sure, let’s jettison your silly Bible AND all those civilizations that are only mentioned in one book of dubious authorship. Such as the Book of Mormon. Massive reset.
Then we go back and find any remaining evidence for Egype, or Babylon, or Rome, see what’s still there.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
