(Response to a news story about a man crushed to death by a giant crucifix dedicated to the Pope)
I'm truly sorry this young man died, but this should be a lesson to all in the sin of worshipping created idols rather than God. Of course, as the RCC is one of the biggest proponents of idol worship, the lesson is lost on them.

Yeah, if they were true Christians they'd be sitting around bitching about how shitty the world is, judging everyone not in their special group, and waiting to fly up into Heaven.

So if one of the giant crosses in front of the Trinity Baptist Church in Newport, KY collapsed on someone, you'd say "good for them, those idolaters"?
Correct me if I am wrong, but a crucifix is a cross with Jesus on it, right? So now Jesus is a created idol? At least TimeWarpWife admits it...
She has a point, though. It's pretty weird (to say the least) that a lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. As Bill Hicks said, "You think when Jesus comes back, he's gonna wanna see a fucking cross? Maybe that's why he hasn't shown up yet." It's like if the flag of Israel had two barbed wires and a gas chamber in it.

No you're not. He made a pilgrimage to visit a statue of Jesus Christ on the cross and you say he was worshiping idols?
So this is god sending a message to Catholics by killing some innocent person according to you sick fucks? Maybe he was just "too good for this world." I'm sure that would be the case if he was in our fundie circle.

Until you rip down every church steeple, stop producing and insisting on nativity scenes everywhere, remove and destroy every ten commandment plaque, angel figurine or cross in your house or car or tombstones, you cannot play the idol worship game.
Don't even get me started on the pagan Jesus-Fish and Televangelists worshipping and pilmigrages to see Jesus on toast or pancakes. Idol worshippers the whole lot of ya.

Isn't a statue of of jesus an "image of something in heaven" that you christians "bow down to and worship"?
