How sad to not have a God by which to judge and guide your life. I have God in my life and have a wonderfully fun and joyful existence.
These scientific types need a near death experience. THAT will make them see how wrong they are.
They should keep their atheistic views to themselves. It offends me.

Well, we apologize, then. Most profusely.
We weren't aware that you yourself were a god, stefie. Which are you in the pantheon, by the way? God the fucker?

How pathetic to base your morals entirely off a book of lies. At least we have a moral/ethical compass that doesn't rely on a 'do it or burn in Hell' mentality, we act nice because it's the right thing to do. You're being deluded and lied to, I'd rather have honesty than false happiness.

You assume that somehow coming close to death will scare us into believing in God. Relying on fear as a main tool to promote your religion is a big indicator of how unstable your beliefs are.

You're a whiny little cunt, nobody cares. The fact that you're wasting oxygen on the planet offends me, please DIAF.

Your blatant disregard for my First Amendment rights offends ME, so cry a motherfucking river you shitsucking hypocrite, and stop breathing my air.

I think you're confused. It's sad to have to rely on an imaginary being to rule your life instead of taking it into your own hands. Of course, if I were a fundy xtian, I wouldn't trust myself either.

I don't see how. A supposed NDE is nothing more than chemical processes in the brain as it shuts down. It's all in your head.

Fundy xtians should keep their cock-suckers shut. They disgust me.

Aww, poor you. *pat pat*
Someone else already probably said this, but... you do not have the right to not be offended.
I have God in my life and have a wonderfully fun and joyful existence.
Did anybody else read that in a sad, doleful voice like Droopy?
"How sad to not have a God by which to judge and guide your life."
-How freeing it is not to have this imaginary overlord not judging and dictating your every move.
"I have God in my life and have a wonderfully fun and joyful existence."
-When I had God in my life I felt imprisoned and enslaved. I had terrible nightmares from all the hellfire stories I was brought up on.
"These scientific types need a near death experience. THAT will make them see how wrong they are."
-I've had a near death experience. Several, actually: a car accident, severe turbulence, a fall from a cliff, an allergic reaction to medication, a childhood illness, an angry ex throwing a heavy chunk of concrete at me. Quick calm rational thinking, wearing seatbelts, cooperation with those trained to assist me when I needed it most, and pure dumb luck are what saved my life, praying would have just wasted precious time.
"They should keep their atheistic views to themselves. It offends me."
-Why do christians always think the first amendment applies only to them?
Atheists views offend you. Your views offend atheists. Where does that leave us? In a world of bickering schoolyard quibbling.
The answer is, be grown-up, accept that atheists and you have different opinions and, in your case, you have your beliefs, and to stop wishing that others will believe the same as oneself.
Fundamentalists are not easily going to see sense and atheists are unlikely to convert to fundamentalism. Who needs a God to judge and guide ones life when that God is described in the bible as being so evil. Not that there is a God anyway, just evil people.
Love and peace, Pule.
re: NDEs
James Randi was clinically dead for a few minutes at some point, iirc. Was revived. Reported no tunnel or white light or anything. It may be archived on jref.
Looks like you lose again, git.
I've had near death experiences, hell I've been dead. You know what happened? Nothing, nada. Although after I came out of the coma there was a bright light and the outline of the doctors head (I couldn't make out his features) yeah I could see if I was a crazier person thinking that was god. Especially if I didn't remember what he said. Somehow I don't think God would of said "well hello! we almost lost you there".
Edit:
Should mention that I was a Christian at the time and totally disturbed that I didn't have a near death experience. In fact I went into a "lying for Jesus" mode, and made up shit to make my fellow fundies happy.
We upset you? Too bad, so sad.
Tell ya what, Stefie, why don't you just lock yourself up in your house forever more. Get rid of your TV, your radio and the Internet, and then you can pretend to your little heart's content that everyone is a Joyous Christian just like you.
Would that make you feel better, diddums?
This sounds like a Poe...though you never know.
Anyway, I'm way happier now, as a non-theist, than I was when I was Christian.
Actually, jerkoff, I had a near death experience. Actually...My heart stopped for about 25 seconds due to the injuries I sustained in the field. A paramedic woman by the name of Christine Franklin saved my life...Not God.
Wanna know whats even better? During the time I was "dead", I didn't see any white lights, tunnels, history of my life, Jeebus, Hell or Heaven. I don't even recall the passage of time.
Maybe it's you who needs a NDE to see your likely full of shit.
If you cannot tell for yourself what is good, and what is not without having to look at some moldy tome, you are the one that's sad.
If you need to look to the sky to find your worth in life, it is you that deserve pity.
And our beliefs offend you? Deal with it. The world is not obliged to censor itself for you.
"These scientific types need a near death experience. THAT will make them see how wrong they are."
And now you know precisely why Atheism exists. What you say - and the way you think you have the right to force it on everyone else who never wanted such in the first place - offends us, to the extent that your 'belie fs' have no right to exist in our mindset.
So you find that yours is no longer the Dominant Paradigm, and you no longer rule the playground (via we Atheists forcing you to do what we say via legislation) offensive , eh steffiepoos?
Good.
We scientific types are proving your 'God' doesn't exist, with every gap filled, and there isn't many left, eh? That makes you lot see how wrong you are. >:D

I have a wife, she judges me fine.
" I have God in my life and have a wonderfully fun and joyful existence.”
I have no god in my life, and also a wonderfully fun and joyful existence.
“These scientific types need a near death experience.”
Yes, if you have no actual argument, let’s go for desperation and emotional manipulation.
“THAT will make them see how wrong they are.”
Yes, yes. No matter HOW MUCH time i’ve spent on these very thoughts, the hallucinations afforded by a brain that’s LITERALLY not processing information correctly will be more competlling.
“They should keep their atheistic views to themselves. It offends me.”
If you’re going to use your religion to dictate my freedoms, then we need to tax the goddamned churches.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
