[In response to a scenario where a woman will choose abortion if she is not allowed to adopt her baby to a gay couple.]
Either way is not right in God's eyes. It's kind of like saying that one sin is not as terrible as another sin (honor your father and mother versus thy shall not covet, etc.)
On one hand, if aborted, the baby will go to heaven (hasn't reached the age of accountability). On the other hand, if adopted by people practicing despicable immorality, this child will likely grow up with the wrong idea of God's choice for a family. Will the child ever get saved? Who knows.
So saying all this, I guess if adopted by homosexuals, the child would live. If aborted, he wouldn't live here but with God in heaven. Did I answer the question? No, I didn't. It's pretty tough.

They don't want the baby to die, they don't want him to be adopted by the couple of the mother's choosing. Is there any logical choice other than to force her to keep the baby? That's it, this proves it. It's all about punishing the woman for spreading her legs.
Until your "God" makes an appearance, and proves that he -is-, in fact, -God-, he doesn't get a say in the matter.
So abortion is bad, but if the kid is to be raised bya homosexual couple abortion suddenly isn´t so bad anymore?
So what, if USA wide all women going to abortion clinics would state that they either abort or let their kid be adopted by a homosexual couple...
would you then stop protesting abortion clinics?
This "age of accountability" crap isn't in the bible, it's from Left Behind because the authors didn't want to have to write icky scenes involving nasty end of the world stuff happening to little kids or anything about kids who by pure luck weren't raised in Christian cultures or households going to h-e-doublehockeysticks.
Which means that if you're right and Christianity is true, you just added to the bible and you're going to hell (it's in Revelation, feel free to look it up.)
Actually age of accountability comes from Judaism (13) (loosely, I don't know how the Jews actually feel about it) and from the Mormons (8).
So Left Behind ripped off another religion, like that's surprising.
hey, I know! go down to a betting shop, and say that in 20 years (when we have enough data), a higher proportion of children brought up by gay couples are gay than those brought up by heterosexual couples! See how much money you might win!
(about zero)
By this logic, it is incumbent upon us all to go out and abort as many babies as possible, so that they get a free ticket to heaven, instead of having to have a life on earth which risks a one way ticket to Hell.
So, you actually think that this is a HARD choice?
It's a choice between giving your child to a loving couple to raise, and aborting, not for medical reasons, but for purely selfish ones.
Aborting your child just to keep it away from The Gay is the perfect example of the dog in the manger scenario. You don't want the kid, but damned if you're giving it to anyone else.
"age of accountability"
Legal term. Stop mixing your faith with Law, stop attributing legal concepts to the Bible. Your Bible and most your sects have no such concept, instead most of you believe all are born in sin and have an inherent sin from birth. Hence all the ceremonial horseshit like Baptism
"it's from Left Behind"
Well, no. It predates LeHay and Jenkins by about a century (within mainstream Christianity, anyway; as others have pointed out, other religions have the same concept). Like pretty much everything about the rapture it dates back to the Schofield Reference Bible ; before that, protestant churches didn't really have an official position on what happened to young children when they died.
ccrider must be incredibly lucky to have been born just when we've corrected all these errors that Christians had been making for 2,000 years....
God doesn't think abortion is right? Try reading your holy book again.
Hosea 13:16: Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
More?
Genesis 38:24: And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
2 Kings 15:16: Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.
I think I have made my point.
When exactly IS this "age of accountability"?
Also, thanks for letting us know this doesn't actually have anything to do with concern over the welfare of the child.
I think we've pretty well decided that this is NOT a tough decision - abort child, fetus goes to heaven, you pray to Jesus for forgiveness, everyone is happy again.
sorry ccrider, thet kid ain't going to heaven.
Firstly, your bible says that it has no soul, the soul enters the body upon first breath AFTER birth.
Secondly, there is no mention of the "age of accountability" which is why none of you fucktards can say exactly what that age is.
So the child, if adopted by a gay couple, would (probably) burn in hell because of the sins of its fathers/mothers?
See, this is what I hate about that "the sins of the father shall be visited upon the son" shit in the bible. It leads to assholes like ccrider.
PS ccrider, seeing the world in black and white like that is a sign of a mental illness called BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). Seek help k?
You know, if there is an option for adoption that the mother and couple is willing to take , why not go for it? It's certainly better than the alternative, which is equally as legal.
On one hand, if aborted, the baby will go to heaven (hasn't reached the age of accountability). On the other hand, if adopted by people practicing despicable immorality, this child will likely grow up with the wrong idea of God's choice for a family. Will the child ever get saved? Who knows.
Or you could just avoid the whole situation by promoting the proper use of contraception/birth control and making it easily accessible. There's always that. (Wouldn't it be the least of all the evils in this case, since it would prevent both abortion and/or adoption to gay couples?)
At any rate, you fundies are stupidly paranoid.
On the other hand, if adopted by people practicing despicable immorality, this child will likely grow up with the wrong idea of God's choice for a family.
That would be true if the child were adopted by hate-filled, judgmental,holier-than-thou lunatic fringe Christian fundies, too. BTW, there's nothing about an "age of accountability" in the Bible.
"God?"
"Yes Paul?"
"What are these ... things I see floating around Heaven lately?"
"They're aborted fetuses, Paul"
"What are they doing here?"
"Nothing, Paul. They have no awareness, no cognition, no memory, no senses... they're not capable of doing anything."
"That's not what I mean, God. Why are they here?"
"Some of the earth people who imagine Heaven imagine that they belong here. They imagine that they get a free pass, so here they are."
"Well, as long as they're here, cluttering up the place, could we use them for Badminton or something?"
"I don't see why not. It's not like they'll notice or anything. Carry on."
Something like that, ccrider?
So...abortion is bad...unless it keeps the filthy gays from being happy. Then it's just fast tracking the child to heaven?
Huh...by your logic, we should be aborting the babies-to-be en masse, to spare them having to suffer the planet. Hell, it's downright SELFISH to allow them to be born, as you're risking their eternal salvation, just so you can have a baby...
Hey, you're the one that said by aborting them, they are guaranteed paradise, not me.
Catholicism says stillborn and aborted babies go to purgatory. And somehow get laser eyes.
Aborted babies with frickin' laser beams.
I might not be Catholic, but I knows potential for bizarre action sequences when I sees 'em.
According to the Bible, some sins are worse than others. For example, not believing in God is the only unforgivable sin, while all the others can be forgiven.
Abortion is evil, unless it keeps babies away from gay couples. Then it's a-ok.
You heard it right here, folks.
