Since very few people have a resistance to HIV I'd say the odds aren't in your favor. Once again, science trumps your god.
Have fun battling smallpox and adult measles and seeing your child be born deaf and slow-witted from rubella (German measles).
I'd rather use the brain God* gave me (or a bunch of clever medical researchers) to not have to battle avoidable diseases.

But the vaccines *help* the immune system by making them produce the correct antibodies.
And in case of HIV, the immune system may not be exactly in best shape to deal with viral infections, now is it?
When it comes to the whole topic of vaccines I'd say go ahead, place yourself at unnecessary risk, who cares? That would be fine with me, except that you're part of the "herd" (i.e., human society), and every person not vaccinated is a threat to the overall health of the herd and every other individual in it.
Leave the herd and you are welcome to all the diseases you want. Have fun with it. But you should not have the right to sponge off of our efforts to increase herd immunity through vaccines while at the same time exposing us to diseases that you will now be more likely to have.

I'm pretty much against any deep-end-of-the-pool Christians using any vaccines. I'd rather they pray, fondle beads and be woefully sick. Not their innocent children, of course, but the adults for sure.

While I agree that H1N1 is not as big a deal as the media says, being against all vaccines implies that you're pro-measles, pro-diptheria, pro-polio, pro-whooping-cough, pro-smallpox, pro-tuberculosis, pro-tetanus....

As for people like perfectpeach, the problem is that they wont get the shot, but then their wasting valuable medical resources for every sniffle because they're sure they've got the pandemic du jour.
Knock yourself out, about 50% of the population of the world can live just as long that way. If your lucky enough to have a active,adaptive immune system, good for you, but I have to ask: Why do you hate old people and babies?

The Smallpox virus now only exists in culture flasks in certain labs around the world - as a result of the Smallpox Eradication Program, from 1950-80; the last death from the virus was in 1977 - with debate in the scientific community to this day on if virological research (against other diseases) should be continued, or said flasks to be destroyed.

Just suppose someone were to smuggle out one small sample of Smallpox, track you down & chloroform you (then bundle you away in a van), you wake up in a hermetically sealed chamber, and you're told that you've been injected with that Smallpox virus.
