.....we were in DQ last night when DH mentioned the attacks as I'd gotten home late from work & hadn't gone to any news websites or heard of the attacks on the news. First thought was: religion of pieces perpetrated this & secondly, doesn't surprise me in godless Paris, France, just like the Marathon Bombing didn't shock me in godless Boston. There's no doubt a correlation between godless areas & terrorist attacks; it just makes sense; these areas are inundated w/ godlessness, false gods, hatred of Christianity, love of Socialism, etc., that they must be swarming w/ demons.
Sounds harsh, but it's too obvious to squelch or dismiss
My husband recently unfriended on FB a guy he went to high school w/ who now travels all over the world 'because he can' (has $, no marriage, kids, commitments, etc.) b/c he posted this really crass & blasphemous cartoon about France not needing nor wanting Christian prayers, God's Blessing & Protection, or anything to do w/ the Gospel, etc. We both find it painfully ironic how their hard-hearted wishes are coming true; God has clearly lifted His Hand from Paris. They got what they asked for. Still praying for them obviously, but can't say I'm surprised.
How much longer Lord?

The I guess that xtian terrorist attack in OKC was Dog lifting his hand from the US, right? And 09/11 and Boston and Eric Rudolph?
Since it has obviously lifted its hand from us, why is it still lurking around here? Your Dog is acting like a jilted ex-lover who has gone into stalker mode. It feels rejected now it commits random acts of violence. Dog is acting like in Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction
I wonder if the US can get a restraining order on Dog?
So, she's basically saying "Paris (and Boston) deserved it." Niiiice....
And..."godless Boston"? I thought Boston was known for having a lot of Catholic churches and stuff, or are these 'Rapture Ready' folks anti-Catholic?
Few in France hate Christianity; they are brought up in a Christian culture, with churches everywhere and the prêtre an important influence in every parish.
Sure, the current president is a Socialist, but the former one is now a member of the Republican party, and the fascist Marine Le Pen has way too much influence in French politics.
The only hard-hearted wishes I see are yours, asshole. One guy says France does not need prayers, blessings and protection or the Gospels and suddenly it's "their wishes", "they got what they wanted". He's just one person, entitled to his own opinion.
The Lord said he would be back within the lifetime of his disciples. You've missed it...
Why stop there, Mary. You are only one step away from stating, God bless the terrorists for they are doing God's work. You will never see why it is that thinking people fear your radicalism in much the same way that we decry the radicalism of the Islamic terrorists. Morally there is little difference. But is as plain as anything to those who can take one step outside your fanatical bubble. As the sign on the church stated. "The greatest enemy of faith is reason".
...are these 'Rapture Ready' folks anti-Catholic?
They have a forum for what they call 'Modern Cults and Religions'. It deals with '... organized religious groups such as Mormonism [sic], Jehovah's Witnesses, Islam, Catholicism , Judaism, World Wide Church of God, Bahai, Scientology, etc'.
Yes, they claim Protestants (and particularly Baptists) pre-date Catholicism. They're particularly fond of The Trail of Blood -: Following the Christians Down through the Centuries - or, The History of Baptist Churches from the Time of Christ, Their Founder, to the Present Day written by a lunatic named James Milton Carroll and published in 1931.
That Judaism is also listed as a cult is intriguing as the Rapturites are so obviously and rabidly pro-Israel. However, it seems they're only interested in the Jews so the temple can be re-built and the prophecies of Revelation fulfilled.
"There's no doubt a correlation between godless areas & terrorist attacks"
Especially when everyplace is automatically labeled Godless after a disaster.
You'll notice though, when it strikes closer to home, only certain buildings or people are Godless but when it's further away the entire city or country is condemnable.
"Still praying for them obviously,"
Why? It's over for now, oh, how to appear you're doing something noble when you're instead practicing that Fundie pastime of judging people entirely based on YOUR perception of Christian worthiness.
So, Socialism that provides free medical care, housing, and other necessities for the poor = hatred of Christianity and "swarming with demons"? I'm fairly certain Jesus would have disagreed.
On the bright side, I guess we can all look forward to visiting Paris without having to worry about bumping into you.

Well, in Soviet France...:

Still praying for them obviously, but can't say I'm surprised.
This is why some people in France are saying "We don't need your prayers."
Blah blah, something terrible happens and you blame godlessness, ignoring disasters that happen to those who are religious, blah blah whatever...
Oh, are you still waiting for your lord?
I'm sorry, but you've missed him. He came to take the few remaining dodos before they died out.
While a christian should pray, that prayer should be accompanied by some sort of action. Even some money sent towards relief would help. Yes, you should pray, but if everyone prays, and no one acts, the chance that it will get better rapidly approaches 0%. That's what that man (I assume) meant when he said that Paris doesn't need your prayers. Because it needs you to act.
And after all, your act could be the answer that someone else prayed for.
Not addressing the rest of this, though I do not agree with it. All I can say is that no one deserves tragedy like this.
Confused?
