Because when you're debating abortion, you don't know who is pro-LGBT+ because they're talking about abortion. When you're protesting child abuse scandals, you don't know who is pro-LGBT+ because they're protesting child abuse scandals.
The only time you have confirmation that someone is LGBT+, is when you're debating them about LGBT+ rights, so of course it seems to you like that's all they care about.
I'm a gay, white, cisgender, non-disabled man. I care about gay folks, POC, transgender folks, disabled folks, women, and cishet white dudes too. I care about humans. You know why? Because I'm not a fucking arsehole.
Look, OP, I'm a straight, cisgendered, white man. Aside from my atheism and autism, I'm as close to the stereotypical majority (aka your ilk) as they come.
Yet, despite that, I do not only care about LGBT+, but also about disabled people, other ethnicities, other genders, animals, other religions even, and all that plus my own group. Hell, if aliens and sentient robots & all that were to show up, I'd be one of the biggest advocates to instantly give them equal rights as humans.
In short, everyone & everything that has the capacity to feel and care about me and their fellow beings. And like Happy Atheist so eloquently said, I do it simply because I'm NOT an asshole. Nothing more, nothing less.
I suppose since I don't condemn gay people that makes me a "fag lover." If you must know, I care about lots and lots of people, not all of them gay. Especially when they're being persecuted by bigots such as idiots on Stormfront.

Yes I remember being a young lad and hearing the tales from my grandad about he and his comrades in arms helped beat back the tyranny that was engulfing mainland Europe, the tyranny of the evil Gays and their ranting psychotic leader Elton John.

I care about my fellow Homo Sapiens: gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, etc. Struggles that give people more rights, in the end, are excellent and make the world a better place.
