Did Terrorist Bill Ayers Write Obama 'Autobiography'?
You can make a post turtle into editor of the Harvard Law Review or even president of the United States, but only talent and hard work can make anyone into a writer.
Evidence has been piling up for some time that Bill Ayers, the unrepentant communist terrorist who shared an office with Barack Obama and launched Obama’s political career from his apartment, is the actual author of Dreams From My Father. Now it is nearly official that Ayers wrote the book:
In promoting his new book, "Public Enemy," Ayers' publisher, Beacon Press, has written a blurb on Amazon.com that says Ayers "finally 'confesses' that he did write 'Dreams From My Father.'"
The boast appears in other promotions for the book as well. For instance, a Baltimore bookstore — Red Emma's — last week posted a similar claim that Ayers penned Obama's memoir as part of an announcement for a book-signing event at the leftist coffeehouse.
The reprehensible former terrorist twice before laid claim to Obama's book — once during a post-election interview and again during a speech two years ago.
In October 2009, Ayers told an interviewer at Reagan National Airport in Washington that he wrote "Dreams From My Father." Asked if he meant he "heavily edited" the book for his friend, Ayers insisted, "I wrote it."
Barack Obama is not the kind of guy who sits down and writes a relatively serious book (although he might be able to churn out lesser material like The Audacity of Hope). No piece ever appeared under his byline during his ballyhooed reign as Editor of the Harvard Law Review.
Simon & Schuster had to cancel a $125,000 contract after he kept missing deadlines to write Dreams From My Father. Random House picked up the contract, and reportedly on a plea from the Bitter Half (a.k.a. Michelle Obama), Ayers picked up the task of writing the book. Per Investors Business Daily:
If someone else wrote the book the president has repeatedly claimed he did — a book that proved significant in his election and earned him millions in late royalties — it not only exposes him as a fraud, but further indicts the national media for failing to properly vet him.
Whoever wrote the supposedly autobiographical book, it is fiction, as Obama biographer David Maraniss has documented, featuring at least 38 fabrications.
But we have bigger problems now than the increasing obviousness of Obama’s lack of authenticity. He didn’t write ObamaCare either, but knowing that won’t stop it from destroying the healthcare system.
