Like how atheists worship a God who killed, plagued and tormented his creation every chance he got and..hmm?...what's that?...oh, I see...my advisor has just informed me that the God I was talking about was actually the Christian God and atheists don't worship gods. He also informs me that it is infact Christianity that is inherently violent and a discriminatory philosophy.
What's so violent and discriminatory about not believing in gods? Atheism is a personal conviction, not a universal philosophy. The only thing atheists have in common is that none of them believe in gods. That's it. Ok, they are also all tired of being villified by Fundamentalists.

I personally see humans as humans, regardless of colour or origin or whatever. As opposed to religions, which tend to emphasise things like 'chosen people' and 'filthy unbelievers' and such. So who's discriminatory again?

We participate in charity because we think it is a good and kind thing to do in empathy with our fellow humans, and we expect nothing in return, except the feeling we did right.
You participate in charity because you want jesus points. You want gold mansions and gold crowns and a an eternity of opulence.
