It sounds perfectly fair to me, though, because your beliefs really don't matter. As a Christian, I couldn't care less about the beliefs of nonbelievers, because their beliefs are false and meaningless and worthy of all the scorn of the world. I have no respect for the beliefs of non-Christians whatsoever, and this is particularly because of conversations like this one where they show me the fact that they do not deserve respect for their beliefs.

And, what socially redeeming characteristics are you displaying to deserve the slightest respect?
Judgmental prick. Christian, my shiny metal ass.
As a Christian, I couldn't care less about the beliefs of nonbelievers ...
How have you managed to avoid drowning in the shower for this long?
Hey, christian love...
OW! what the fuck !
It sounds perfectly fair to me, though, because your beliefs really don't matter. As a muslim, I couldn't care less about the beliefs of infidels, because their beliefs are false and meaningless and worthy of all the scorn of the world. I have no respect for the beliefs of non-muslims whatsoever, and this is particularly because of conversations like this one where they show me the fact that they do not deserve respect for their beliefs.
Fixed.

In what way is that fair?
[As a Christian, I couldn't care less about the beliefs of nonbelievers, because their beliefs are false and meaningless and worthy of all the scorn of the world.]
Why are your beliefs so much better?

That’s blatantly obvious from your post.

If that’s the case, give us a good reason why we should respect your beliefs.
I don't care what you think. I am so not concerned about what you think I won't even bother responding. The idea, of typing a whole paragraph, to someone whose opinion doesn't really matter, is really, really silly. I hope you realize that you are not important enough to respond to, or even pay attention to. This is why I never answer your posts.
::cracks knuckles:: Here we go!
It sounds perfectly fair to me, though, because your beliefs really don't matter. As a rational thinking person, I couldn't care less about the beliefs of Christians, because their beliefs are false and meaningless and worthy of all the scorn of the world. I have no respect for the beliefs of Christians whatsoever, and this is particularly because of conversations like this one where they show me the fact that they do not deserve respect for their beliefs.
That was easy!
He pretty much spends the rest of the thread this comes from reiterating this idea, and trying to defend it with "you just don't understand the TROOOOF of Jesus". And this happens smack dab in the middle of people smacking down on some whiny Christian talking about how the phrase "God dammit" is offensive to him, therefore it should be censored like racial slurs, vulgarities, and insults against homosexuals. It is a delicious brew...
Somehow it doesn't surprise me that someone from GameFAQs, a compendium of stupid people, posted this. To be fair though, this guy might be an immature thirteen year old or something, given the website. I hope.
Remember, any argument you use to destroy any other God can be applied just as effectively to yours.
And indeed we don't believe in Thor, Krishna or Jupiter as well... Its just that we add one more to the list...
God isn't even his name...it's a title or taxonomic description if anything. It would be akin to saying Architect dammit or human dammit. I for one have never heard someone use god's name in vein.
(for clarity, this is what the argument was about if you check the source)
Reminds me of a conversation I had with a fundie regarding placing the big 10 in public places. I told him they should go ahead, if and only if they want to see monuments of faith that represent other religions standing beside them. The law applies to every citizen, therefore if they have the right to do that, others will as well.
His response was that this was a christian nation and he would refuse to allow that because he would never promote my or anyone else's non-christian beliefs.
Of course, this doesn't stop them from trying to force everyone else to promote theirs , does it?
Respect goes both ways. When are these people ever going to learn that and behave accordingly?
I think I already know the answer to that, but you know...hope springeth eternal.
Well if you refuse to respect and listen to my beliefs, then don't expect me to respect and listen to yours, because I have no interest in talking to somebody that believes my beliefs are "worthy of all the scorn in the world".
Confused?
