You really have to appreciate just how much the liberal left hate Christianity and despise Jesus Christ. In some schools ALL of the Christian books and literature were removed from school libraries and deemed unsuitable. The Bible has been banned from personal reading periods and in some cases even private Bible study groups were prohibited and banned from school campus's. Even any mention of God or Jesus Christ has been censored out of student papers and assignments. Pictures of Jesus and crosses have been taken down and banned from schools across America. And just recently a school trip to a museum was cancelled merely because it was run by Christian owners.

BUT, take the entire class out to a MUSLIM MOSQUE for a day and NO PROBLEM! And despite the glaring and shameless hypocrisy, these God loathing liberals simply don't care how disgraceful they look. As long as it's NOT Christianity, these enemies of Jesus Christ are just tickled pink.

Wow! It must be nice to be such V.I.P.'s that the school district would go to such great lengths to EVEN ATTEND CHURCH SERVICES to better understand and accommodate MUSLIM students!

If only Christian students could ever be so lucky.

I would wager that it wasn't ONLY xtian books that were removed; probably ALL religious books were.

I would want to see a citation for this. IF true, then I would disagree with the school board. If someone wanted to read the bible (or the koran or the torah, or the eddas, etc.) on their PERSONAL time, then they should be able to.

Again with the citation. Even though I am firm believer in the separation of church & state, if there was any type of PRIVATE religious club, I would not be adverse to the school allowing them an unused classroom to meet in. As long as they aren't witnessing to others, proselytizing, handing out tracts, etc.

So, have pictures of Jebus, the saints, whoever you want, in your homes or churches/mosques/synagogues. The school is NOT the place for them.

Citation that the trip was cancelled due to the OWNERSHIP. What kind of museum was this? Something like Hammy's Creation Museum? Then good. Or maybe they should have went so they could laugh at the idiocy.

Why is this a problem? It's not like the teachers are going to be promoting Islam or anything. And they attended services or did they visit the mosque and get some training?

No need, as the teachers are probably xtian themselves or have been exposed to enough of it to understand where xtian kids are coming from.

Nope. Look up the Equal Access Act, which was signed by Regan. It makes it illegal to ban students from reading religious texts during free reading times, and it requires schools to allow religious clubs to meet on the same terms as all other extracurricular clubs. That means that if your school can have sports teams and 4H clubs, you can have a chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes too. The only restrictions on religious clubs is that they can't be led by faculty members. Thanks for playing, though. We have some lovely parting gifts

Edit: On further checking, I found that the Equal Access Act was also used to help GSA clubs get equal access. Which is pretty funny considering that the Act was lobbied for by Christian rights groups like Campus Crusade. =]

Almost every one of these statements is false. Nothing prevents school libraries from having Bibles. No one is forbidden to read the Bible during free time. Bible study groups among students are perfectly legal as long as public school employees only monitor and don't participate. Nothing prevents students from mentioning God or Jesus. Crosses and pictures of Jesus can't be displayed on public property, but individual students can wear crosses and other religious symbols - the ACLU even sued to allow that privilege. The museum trip wasn't cancelled merely because it was run by Christian owners; it was cancelled because the museum's exhibits were designed to proselytize a particular Protestant fundamentalist literal interpretation of Genesis.
