My pastor recently stated 'atheist are a dying breed, but everyday there are more and more agnostics'... This is becuase you have to acknowledge something to be able to deny its existence and how can you acknowledge something that you believe does not exist.

Agnosticism/Gnosticism refers to what you KNOW. Agnostics don't KNOW for sure if there is a god. Gnostics claim to have knowledge of such a thing.
Atheism/Theism refers to what you BELIEVE. Atheists do not BELIEVE in the existence of a god (which is not the same as believing in no god, btw). Theists do.
One can be an Agnostic Atheist ("weak atheist"), who doesn't know and doesn't believe. One can be a Gnostic Atheist ("strong atheist") who claims to KNOW there is no god, and also believes there is no god. One can be an Agnostic Theist, who doesn't know there is a god, but believes there is. One could be a Gnostic Theist, who claims to KNOW there is a god, and also believes in one.
Atheism, further, is not the belief that there is no god, but rather the rejection of the belief that there is one based on the lack of evidence.
The end.
Talk about twisting and warping perceptions. So using YOUR logic, if I deny the existence of my twin sister, that means she exists so I can deny the existence? (I am an only child, BTW)

I would agree that creationists acknowledge evolution. Creationism exists only as a reaction to evolution. All they do is point to holes in the theory and shout they found god, but i think they’d balk at a suggestion that ‘acknowledging’ an idea is somehow supporting it.
Same as Santa Claus. You have to know the lore of Santa to point out the logical holes and impossibilities.
You have to know just how many freaking species of animal there are on Earth to demonstrate how impossible Noah’s Ark is.
And you have to know a lot about Batman and Superman to discuss who’d win in a batman/superman fight.
But the ability to discuss ideas is nothing like endorsing them as factual.
Confused?
