Also, By Godlessness do you mean without any gods? Or without your God? If the latter, then so would the ancient Egyptians, the Mayans, Native North Americans, Australian Aborigines, any number of other African tribes. . . .

Okay, one? Societies other than those of Abrahamic lineage are not "godless". The vast, vast majority of them had gods of one kind or another. Two, "godless" societies have lasted for far longer than the bible has even been around. Egypt and China are two examples. Three, there's no such thing as "atheist blinders".
Aside from invasions by the Assyrians and the Persians, the Egyptians endured nearly three thousand years of continued cultural existence. Before Abraham the Sumerian civilization lasted for nearly two thousand years. Rome reached the height of its power under a pretty secular government, and collapsed when it was Christian. The Chinese have lasted even longer, their calender is at the year five thousand.
I'm not the one with the blinders on.

Please point out Abraham and his lineage (whatever that is) in history's timeline. Your fantasy book doesn't count.
Which ten commandments would this be? The first set or the second?
Incidentally, I saw the excavation of an ancient Jewish temple on TV recently. Apparently they (used to?) have tablets of stone with the ten commandments carved into them incorporated in their foundations. I was expecting something like the paving slabs Moses held in his arms in the "Childrens' Illustrated Bible" I was given by a great-Aunt as a kid. I was really disappointed when the archaeologist held them up and you could have fitted them both in a cigarette pack (and still had room for ten smokes).
