In our society, an earring is piece of jewlery worn by women, therefore, for a guy to have a pierced ear symbolizes their affiliation with the sodomite community.

Earrings are jewelry, but that's the only thing you got right. There isn't any such symbolism implied. So, sorry, but you STILL cannot tell solely by deciphering some outward "clues" of appearance just who is gay and who isn't.

Earrings have never been a female only accoutrement in Western society. Sailors have worn them for centuries, Shakespeare wore one, as well as most gentlemen of the 16th and 17th centuries. It is only in the last 150 years of so that the puritanical movment in America made it otherwise. The trend is just returning, that's all.
Another gem:
To answer the question, you must answer this question: Why does someone want to pierce all the different parts of their body? The answer to that question is clear and simple! People do this to say, “Look at me.”
Anything that you do to draw attention to yourself, instead of God, is immodest!
Onyx, I'd say he has a point about it being for attention; at core, that's one of the primary functions of adornment.
However, the suggestion that anything done to attract attention to yourself and away from God is immodest is just absurd on multiple levels. Or does he think that EVERYONE should just go about in neutral gray jumpers like in a 50s sci-fi vision of the future, or in monastic robes? I'll bet he doesn't.

All fishermen had to wear a gold earring in one of their ears. In the event that the fisherman drowned while at sea, the earring would be worth enough to pay for a modest funeral.
I'm having trouble understanding how that would work. Wouldn't the earring be lost at sea with the fisherman?
A classic quote from a god of comedy, George Carlin himself:
"Men used to wear earrings to piss off the squares, but now the squares are wearing them. The earring thing- it's over!"
It's fucking jewelry, asswad. Why you think of sodomy when you see a guy with an earring, well, that's a deep personal problem.
I remember a debate among my colleagues about men and earrings. They could not remember if the earring in the right ear meant that the wearer was gay or was it the left ear. The issue was not resolved. We started High School the next year and promptly forgot about it. After all, we were now in the progressive 1970's.
Bro. Randy, I thought that I might be a bit out of touch, but you take the cake!

Incorrect. In our society, it is worn by both genders (though far more often by women).
Society is ever changing. Just because you grew up in one where it was socially acceptable for only women to wear earrings does not mean it will always be that way. In fact, it has already become no big deal to see a man wearing an earring for no other reason than they like the look. So, wake up - The 50s came and gone while you were sleeping.
The wearing of a small gold earring or stud, usually in the left ear, has been an on and off tradition in the British, US and Australian Navies. It's said to have been based on an old fishermen's superstition about improving eyesight.
This guy runs the site. It's for teenagers, and in terms of letting kids read stuff online, NAMBLA would be preferable. He outlaws wearing black, loud music, CS Lewis (heretic), JRR Tolkien (heretic), and imagination.
Uhuh.
The other one to watch out for is katyanne.
So my brothers, ex-boyfriend, and many of my straight male friends are actually gay? Wow, they'll be so bummed when I tell them.
Jeez... Does this guy flip out when he sees a woman wearing pants? I mean, before the 1950's, it wasn't socially acceptable for women to wear pants--only men did. Does this mean he would think every woman in pants is a lesbian? ::eyeroll::

Actually, WWII made pants acceptable among women in the west when they had to wear them in the factories while men went off to war.Pants became very quickly accepted after that in casual social situations.
Women have worn pants for millenia in the orient while working in the rice fields,so this isn't a new phenomenon.
I thought selfishness was frowned on by God? That's YOUR culture in an obviously multi-cultural society (yes, even the US is multi-cultural - it's unavoidable). A culture is created by circumstance, not force.
“n our society, an earring is piece of jewlery worn by women,”
Sailors used to wear them in one ear for indicatng trips made around the world, the other ear to indicate times they survived a boat sinking. You’re projecting your experience and expectations over a LOT of society.
“therefore, for a guy to have a pierced ear symbolizes their affiliation with the sodomite community.”
It’s a fashion choice. Big whoop.
Confused?
