Yes, surely God is laughing at seeing how his children are killed in a place he chose for his people. Isn't it the other way round, that you say that God makes so because YOU are laughing and acting in such a selfish and arrogant way?
There ain't nothing humble about this opinion that professes to KNOW that "our God in heaven" is laughing about a tragic situation. Seems to me, god would be entitled to sue you for libel.
If, however, your god actually takes delight in human suffering, he's an asshole. And so are you.
If anything the situation in Gaza is indicative of the total absence of God from the picture. If the land really belongs to the Israelis why doesn't He come down from on high and eject everyone else from it?

The Gaza situation is what it is because of the two main parties in Palestine, one is too corrupt to rule (Fatah), and the other should never be allowed within five hundred miles of a parliamentary process for fear they'd blow it up (Hamas). I mean, honestly, Hamas got a majority government, fine. But it's pretty clear they are not made up of people who give anything remotely resembling a shit about actually running things.
If there was a touch of common sense anywhere among the leadership of Israel or Palestine, the Israeli government would go back to the fully-secular model the original Zionists intended and give full representation to all Palestinians within Israel and the Palestinian authority. But as long as the haredim are pulling the strings behind the scenes of the Israeli government, it's not going to happen, especially as I'm pretty sure the haredim are not at all fond even of non-Orthodox Jews, never mind secular Zionists and those damn hippie kibbutzniks. Meanwhile the Arab governments will continue to pump out anti-semitic propaganda, making it virtually impossible for Israel and Palestine to negotiate in good faith even if both side indicated the intent to.
In other words:
1. Carefully sift the Israeli and Palestinian population for people with brains and common sense.

I have a Palestinian friend living in exile because of this problem, and I find it utterly insensitive what she said, right. However, think this way, is God laughing at what is happening not far away, in Iraq?, is God laughing when in the very same territory the fight is against the Jewish?. I think that she's using God as a strawman. She is laughing at the problem because she's an insensitive ignorant bitch, and wants to say that "God made me do so", to excuse herself.

P.S. I must agree with sandman. It's easy for us on the outside to step back and view the conflict as unnecessary, sad, ridiculous, and even tragically pathetic, Praetyre. But there is nothing comical about loss of life, no matter whose it is. You join us in mocking the fundies, yet manage to sound like them in your tirades against Arabs and Muslims. What you fail to understand is that they are not a homogeneous group that you can so easily dismiss. They are PEOPLE. Being of a faith that you do not agree with or like does not change that.
