I believe Evolution takes as much if not more faith that the Creationist view0point, why you ask? Because Creationism doesn't try to explain things because of bones and fossil records, we just believe, Evolution was a belief that was substantiated by the commonality between two animals of different species. If evolution is taught then there has to be an antithesis provided so that the kids can make a decision, instead of being forcefed the Darwin Agenda.

Clint: Do you know what faith is? It is believing in something WITHOUT proof or evidence. Evolution has evidence, and that is why we believe it, there for it is NOT faith to believe in it. Science and evolution are not about conflicting beliefs, they are about proof or evidence, the reason why we geocentric theory isn't taught is because it is wrong, the reason ID isn't taught as science(save for kansas) is because it is NOT science. It is a front to try to legitimize creationism. I don't even understand how people can claim that it is science, the entire premise is that the lack of proof against it is proof for it. But, since evolution is a valid scientific theory instead of a political view, you don't have to counterbalance it, nor should you, unless there is another valid scientific theory.
"You know, because them having testable predictions and all is unfair! And that having a mechanism? That's unfair too! Kids need to be told that all that doesn't matter because this other thing could be true, too, and better yet doesn't need all that 'evidence' stuff so it must be superior!"
Wow, nice. "Agreeing with Darwin takes more faith, because they have evidence, while we just have faith." Fantastic.
Poor Darwin. Such a nice old man, who, not wanting to upset religious people, didn't really talk about religion at all. It's upsetting to see a man's memory being raped daily.
You mean you don't even review the evidence, you simply made you decision beforehand.
No, sorry. You pulled your decision out of a religious book beforehand.
That's not science, and I would assume we are talking about science class here? Keep your religion in religion class, fuckwit.
I think it's a bit harsh to say that James or Clint a.k.a. Slash (who apparently can't decide on a name as easily as he can decide to say that evolution takes faith) is made of fail.
It's not so harsh to say that he has much more than the US RDA of fail in his diet, however.
Hm, a Dawkins quote is appropriate here:
"...when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong."
Richard Dawkins
Yeah, then we can introduce an antithesis to the holcaust in history class: jews left in spaceships to colonise the sun. Of course we'll have to introduce an antithesis to the idea of the sun being really hot in physics class and give both ideas equal time, that way people can make up their own minds.
If creationism doesn't even try to explain anything, how can it be considered a valid point of view? And if something has evidence, it requires more faith to believe?
What?
What??
WHAT???
Look does James/Clint/Slash simply have no idea what faith means? Maybe we could send him a dictionary because he seems rather confused about the relationship between faith and evidence.
The alternative to the truth, right?
That's what you're demanding. Reality must be balanced with bullshit or creationists get angry
So, actual, tangible evidence takes more faith than just believing without evidence?
Don't we need an antithesis for Math too? So that the kids can make a decision, instead of being force-fed the 1+1=2 Agenda.
"If evolution is taught then there has to be an antithesis provided so that the kids can make a decision, instead of being forcefed"
So, if chemistry is taught we need to teach the kids alchemy so they can make a decision?
So if astronomy is taught we need to teach the kids astrology so they can make a decision?
So, if natural childbirth is taught we need to teach the kids stork delivery so they can make a decision?
“I believe Evolution takes as much if not more faith that the Creationist view0point”
Heard that. Sounds like bullshit to me. Do you have anything more than your subjective impressions?
“why you ask? Because Creationism doesn't try to explain things because of bones and fossil records, we just believe,”
Wait. EVOLUTION has evidence, YOU have faith and nothing more. But my side takes MORE faith?
"Evolution was a belief that was substantiated by the commonality between two animals of different species.”
So….evidence. Not just faith.
“If evolution is taught then there has to be an antithesis provided so that the kids can make a decision, instead of being forcefed the Darwin Agenda.”
What drives this principle, teach the antithesis? Do we do that anywhere else?
One is science, the other is religion.
The government is not in the business of teaching religion. Can you imagine the handout for government introduction to the principles of the mysteries of foundational creationist magic?
Confused?
