The bible clearly states the world is round.

Nah-ah!
Isaiah 11:12 :
"And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth ."
Matthew 4:8 :
"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them."
(That's only possible if the earth is flat!)
Sure. Round and flat, like a dish. With a foundation, like a house. And the heavens a tent placed over it.
Isiah 40:21Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
Yes, like a circle though, not like a ball.
Isaiah 40:22 - "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth", [KJV] "Qui sedet super gyrum terrae" [Vulgate].
The word 'gyrum' in the vulgate means disc, not ball or sphere, which would be 'globus'. Similarly the Greek septaguint uses the word 'gyros' rather than 'spheros' and the hebrew text says 'chweg' meaning disc, not 'duwr' meaning ball.
Edit: Nuts, HH beat me to it while I was trying to find an online septaguint! The point is, in no language does the bible unambiguously say the Earth is (roughly) spherical, and in most it unambiguously says it is not!
Ah, poor l'il sheeple, trying to reconcile reality and a book written thousands of years ago by a bunch of goat herders, without being allowed to read said book...
I feel sorry for him, I really do.
Confused?
