Jesus isn't obligated to save you from what your sins deserve; the defintion of grace is 'undeserved favor.' If you end up in Hell, you'll have no one to blame but yourself. If the Lord does eventually save you, you'll have no one to thank but Him.

And if God acts so that there is never any provable evidence of IT'S actions, then science has no reason to include that IT did a damn thing into any theory.
Slightly OT for this guy, but i've been wanting to say that for a while.
So... if I'm reading this right- I'm the one responsible for my sinning, and God isn't obligated to help me.
But if I *stop* sinning, then God gets all the credit?
I never asked anyone to "save me" from the consequences of my actions, whether good or bad. I'm a big boy, and I am comfortable with the idea that if I screw someone, I will answer for my crime in real time.
I'm also a free boy. No one is my "lord". Especially not some abrahamic bogeyman.
If I kill you, you have no one to blame but yourself, if I spare you, give me all your money and be my slave for eternity.
Damn, God is a shrewd businessman.
That's a new definition...
And, why in the name of Avandra, would an all-loving God NOT save you, regardless of what you "deserve"? Why is it that we have to thank Him for saving us, when he is responsible for setting up the scenario in which we are REQUIRED to call upon him to save us, and when we are only saved when we cry out for his invisible help, and are obliged to continually laud him as the best thing since sliced bread?
Sounds like a crock.
“Jesus isn't obligated to save you from what your sins deserve;”
Why not?
First of all, at the end of The Flood, we find that Man is just MADE with ‘wicked’ in his nature. If i sin, it’s the fault of my maker.
Second, he’s the one who decides what my sins are! If it’s in my nature to lust after beautiful women, which happens well below my conscious level, it’s also his decision that it’s something to punish me for?
Third, he’s the one who decides what my sins deserve: Forgiveness, purgatory, oblivion, and Hell.
His fingerprints are ALL OVER this sin shit.
“the defintion of grace is 'undeserved favor.'”
Which still doesn’t end his obligations to clean up his own messes.
“If you end up in Hell, you'll have no one to blame but yourself.”
Depends. Am I in Hell for things I could or could not control?
because if it’s just ‘my nature’ to do something, and the author of my nature punishes me for it, he’s culpable.
“If the Lord does eventually save you, you'll have no one to thank but Him.”
Oh, yes, thank you for creating me with a predilection towards wicked and then setting the bar higher than my little toe.
Confused?
