The term 'liberal Christian' is an oxymoron because it is not possible to hold the beliefs of liberalism and be in harmony with Biblical teachings at the same time. This would make the phrase 'liberal christian' is akin to the phrase 'evil, good person'.
A 'liberal christian' typically denies the blood sacrifice of Christ for attonement of our sins, does not attend church regurlarly, and does not pray. A 'liberal Christian' is infact, 'Christian' in name only.
Further, a liberal Christian does not recognize Christ as the sole avenue for salvation as taught in the Bible. A 'liberal christian' therefore does not have salvation, which, according to biblical teachings, is attained through the name of Christ exclusively.

An evil good person would just be a person who does the "right" thing, whatever that may be, in the most evil possible manner, wouldn't it? Or maybe it'd be a person who's clearly evil, but friendly about it?
What Christian denies Christ died for our sins? It says so right in 1 Corinthians. Certainly no Catholic or mainstream Protestant hold that belief. And no Christian I'm aware of denies Christ is the sole avenue to salvation. Some fundies have tried to claim that Roman Catholics believe salvation can be earned through works, but this is nonsense.
The Bible says nothing about attending church regularly, and admonishes people to pray in private.
So what's left of Shawn's definition of a "liberal" Christian?
"The term 'liberal Christian' is an oxymoron because it is not possible to hold the beliefs of liberalism and be in harmony with Biblical teachings at the same time."
So Christ isn't a Christian? Wow!

Well if liberal Christians aren't really Christian, would you mind stop using us to inflate your figures that the majority of people in the United States are Christian?
There are things that non-conservative Christians adhere to that are Biblically based, it's just not the same things that you adhere to.
How sad, for a change, this person can spell words and seems to know what they mean, yet can't make sense. What a waste!
Funny, we liberal Christians see you fundies as the "Christians in name only" because you seem to do nothing but hate, hate, hate, discriminate, deny help to the poor, push the meek and helpless around, deny science, denigrate people of other faiths, and then hate some more--all in the name of Christ. Your definition proves you know nothing about us or what we believe, and you definitely don't speak for us. In fact, we're ashamed of and sickened by you. That's why we come here.
Huh. I guess I must be an Elder God, given that I have the ability to exist despite being unable too.
Cthulhu! Your brother wants some explanation here!
I hear someone are planning to rerite your bible to root out any liberal bias there.
I wonder how, but it'll be fun to see the result of tir Orwellian project and how Jesus would be portrayed as some Rambo taking from the poor, giveto rich and kiss your preachers arse for his greed and intolerance.
Why do I alwys mix you xtians with islamofasism?
The term "conservative christian" is an oxymoron because it is impossible to hold the beliefs of conservatism and be in harmony with our savior's teachings at the same time. This would make the phrase "conservative christian" akin to the phrase "smart Republican."
A "conservative christian" typically denies the socialist message of Christ for the betterment of mankind, does not follow the New Testament, and does not emulate the teachings of Christ. A "conservative christian" is, in fact, "christian" in name only.
Fixed.
P.S. Apparently there is a growing evangelical movement that embraces the reality of global warming and *gasp* thinks that man should follow the biblical instructions to protect the Earth.
Fundie fight! (makes popcorn and sits back to watch the show)
Doubting Thomas said: "Yes, because we all know that God is a Republican. GOP now stands for God's Own Party."
I though GOP stood for "Gaggle Of Perverts."
Yes, if someone doesn't share your political view than they must not be Christian. Also, what happened to judge not, lest ye be judged also?
One of the problems that many Calvinist wannabe denominations have is that, with that bullshit of faith alone policy, you know, that you have to accept Christ as the only condition to be saved, loopholes apart, it creates trollish logical conditions like this.
Despite the fact that Catholics, Orthodox(you know, they don´t know they exist but anyway), Liberal Christians and so on go to church more or less regularly, believe in the blood sacrifice of Christ and pray.............well, and many other things, they insist that they´re not Christians and go as far as denying evidence(á la Chick). Why?, because, otherwise, their beliefs don´t hold water.
Jesus was fairly liberal, for his time. So, he would not have been accepted as a Christian, if you were in charge, right?
Most people ARE both good and bad, stupid! Perhaps not evil, as that implies a serious intent to be bad towards other people.
The term 'fundamentalist Christian' is an oxymoron because it is not possible to hold the beliefs of fundamentalism and be in harmony with Biblical teachings at the same time. This would make the phrase 'fundamentalist Christian' is akin to the phrase 'evil, good person'.
A 'fundamentalist Christian' typically denies the forgiveness and goodness of Christ, lies, cons people, cheats on his/her spouse, and boasts about how much they pray. A 'fundamentalist Christian' is in fact, 'Christian' in name only.
Further, a fundamentalist Christian believes that he decides who goes to Heaven and who goes to hell; he also believes that God's will is an extension of his own. A 'fundamentalist Christian' therefore is a blasphemer and a self-proclaimed deity with an out-of-control superiority complex.
Confused?
