Is there really such thing as a person being an Atheist?
I think if you had the time to study a person who calls them selves an Atheist, - you would soon find out they have there, "Gods & Goddesses," something they bow down to in life - drugs, sex, power/money, Mother with a cap M and many have more than one God.

All those things exist, unlike your god. So even if you were right, you still lose. You should be used to it by now, Mr Fail.
I agree that the Mother games are quite good, but I've never met anyone who worshiped them...
Also, atheists DO exist, I'm one of them and I haven't bowed down to anything since I saw the light and tuned away from Christianity.
Why is it so hard for these fundies to understand Atheism?
No god. That's it! Simple.
Vices? Sure, everyone has those. But drugs, etc aren't supernatural entities that supposedly want us to worship them and live our lives a certain way.
Don't do drugs, but sex, power and money have never threatened to sear my ass for eternity if I doubt their existence. Neither, for that matter, has any small desiccated rat turd, which makes it more worthy of reverence than your god.
"something they bow down to in life - drugs, sex, power/money"
Sigh...so, what you are saying is that most Christians are polytheists, then? Since most of the power-hungry, money-hoarding, drug-using sex fiends in this country are Christian. Is that your final answer?
"Mother with a cap M"
Actually, I'm a JeNova's Witness whenever it's funny.
However, you will find that we admit that our 'gods' didn't create the universe, don't control anything more than what they actually control, and aren't people.
@ Painful
Will you marry me?
*starts to say something about seeing the occasional Jenova's Witness here and there, typically sporting a flowing black cape and a two-handed sword longer than he is tall...but then frowns as he reads the replies a bit further*
Damn. Looks like anonymous_troy beat me to it. *sigh*
"drugs, sex, power/money"
None of these are Gods
No one bows down or prays to then
These are desires/wants/addictions
I think if you had the time to study a person who calls them selves a Christian, - you would soon find out they have there, "Gods & Goddesses," something they bow down to in life - intolerance, biggotry, Stockholm syndrome, Homophobia with a cap H and many have more than one God.
There, fixed.
So, a "god" can be anything we seek after and adore in life. It doesn't have to be an imaginary sky being? At least things like drugs, sex, power, and money are more tangible. We know they are here, we know what they are good for, and we know what they are not good for. So, yeah, those are better gods than your powerless, childish, imaginary, fuckwad of a deity that lives somewhere up in the sky raining down hatred, cruelty, injustice, murder, and war.
I've never taken any hallucinogen in my life. Nor have I ever smoked in my life.
...and unless I worship the Almighty Energiser Bunny (All hail the Holy PP3!), and kowtow to my HSBC debit card, then yes: I AM an Atheist.
At least I can see my real Creator: my mother. What does that 5th Commandment say, Davey-boy...?! [/paradox]
(*Sings *):
'Sex is natural
Sex is fun ...!'

Confused?
