Other than the fact that text singles out atheists (implying that theists know more), I don't find this to be particularly fundie. I have no problem with someone pointing out that there's probably a lot more to our universe than we've yet to discover or may ever discover. But like Some Guy said, the fundie dot is much smaller than the atheist dot.
Does anyone else see the circular logic here? He's basically saying, "This is my belief. Look! It's true because I explained it. And by 'explained,' I mean, I drew a picture of it. See? I drew a picture. That's how you know it's true!"
so... blah blah... we can't know everything, ergo God exists. Argument from ignorance, argument from agnosticism. Blah blah.
does that mean that there could be a world made entirely of jelly slugs outside your knowledge of the universe?
The point, you dolt, is although it's philosophically POSSIBLE, does not make it probably and it it certainly doesn't make it necessary.
Really didn't need an illustration there, fundies. We don't disagree with you because something is lost in translation there. We understand perfectly what you babble on about, and we think you're insane.
If this were accurate, since atheists are quite capable of understanding the concepts of God espoused by various religious texts, the X should be considerably smaller than the tiny dot. There should also be multiple, different coloured but roughly equal sized Xs for all the various deities asserted to exist over the millennia.
There is an even better quote from that very same site. It goes like this:
Ask him what percentage he knows of all the knowledge to be known in the entire known universe like what is happening in the core of Mars--right now. What is the temperature of that star that hubble is about to approach, etc.
The Hubble space telescope does not approach stars. It's an orbital telescope and it never leaves the Earth's orbit. If you dont know what you're talking about, then shut the hell up.
Yep. The guy is an idiot.
I hate it when religious nutcases attack me with, "Oh, so I guess you know everything then! You have knowledge of everything!" It's so ironic, as if they don't pretend to know everything from an old book, and they criticise me for thinking outside the box!
The last timeI saw this, it was on laststophell.com. It does show up a little better there, but this really doesn't make a good case for God either since he doesn't take up much space in this representation of all knowledge either.
So what you're saying is that God exists out of everything that ever has, is, and will be?
Thus proving my theory of an omni-impotent, non-omniscient God.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
