If you don't like our 'trusty science', then ditch your computer (technology), your house (architecture) and your food (crop sciences) because they're all using the same scientific method, and they're all improving your wellbeing.

Trusty science is supported by evidence, not faith. If you want something proved to you without evidence then I'll be sure to work up a huge fart and send it your way. It'll be worth about as much when you reject the evidence that's provided to you.

Yeah! We ought to be ashamed pushing ideas only backed up with empirical evidence and stuff. Where do we get off methodically conducting experiments controlled for confounding variables and acting like that 'proves' anything? Just because some 'theory' of ours explains all the known observations and accurately predicts the results of future observations and experiments, we act like it's some sort of rational explanation or something? And just because we can use it to produce things that actually work, like medicines, computers and stuff, we think we can like look down on relying on prayer and invisible superbeings to make stuff happen!

It doesn't take much faith to believe in science. You have to have faith that the sun will rise in the east every morning. You have to have faith that if you stick your hand in a fire, it will feel unpleasant. Not much faith required. A religious person is required to believe that, say, a leprechaun will fly into the room and give them a pot of gold. That takes a lot more faith.

And Pascal's Wager only works on people that believe their religion is the ONLY religion. So the dumb fuck that lives down your road that has never been more than 15 feet from the tavern, is a better target than someone who has actually seen other parts of the world.

Okay, let's see: If I'm wrong about your god not existing, then your god will punish me by throwing me to some supposed place called Hell because of my supposedly insolent disbelief. On the other hand, if you are right, then your god will reward your blind faith by placing you in some supposed place called Heaven. Assuming this Heaven is better than this Hell, then I guess you are right about the repercussions. How convincing!

I think we should bet on something else: If I'm right, I get money from you, and if you are wrong, you pay me money. Does this sound good to you?

As above, prove it without your 'beliefs' & 'faith'. Besides, with the unlimited credit we Atheists have at this casino with all the evidence at our disposal, you're liable to leave the game sans your shirt. And not just scientifically, but philosophically, to reiterate (and second) what many others here in FSTDT have said previously in this thread.

So I'm afraid in this game of Science vs. Religion, the only one to pay will be you fundies when you're ultimately proved wrong. Ah, it feels good to be on the winning side.

And it will, like the Roman Empire, and it's beliefs. And you fundies proclaim your beliefs as if they're the best thing since sliced bread, with the way you force said beliefs on everyone else. Your Religious Right arrogance has resulted in your destruction (with Obama's election, as a result of your God Emperor Bush destroying the USA). And your haughtiness in believing in a non-existent (Holy) Spirit will result in your fall.

Besides, we Atheists don't have a 'faith' nor a 'belief' Merely acceptance of the facts. Facts backed up by scientific evidence. Which we have in shitloads. All you have to back up your so-called 'faith' & 'beliefs' is a book.
