A teenage girl who was stabbed at a Gay Pride march in Jerusalem has died from her wounds, doctors say.
Shira Banki, 16, was one of six people attacked at the event on Thursday.
Yishai Schlissel, an ultra-Orthodox Jew, who carried out a similar attack in 2005, was arrested at the scene.
[...]
Dramatic images of Thursday's attack in Jerusalem showed the suspect reaching inside his coat and raising a knife above his head.
He then began stabbing marchers while screaming, before being tackled by a police officer.

Schlissel was released from prison just three weeks ago after serving 10 years for the 2005 attack

I hope his head doesn't explode when he realises that he's as sinner, if not more, than the marchers
Never happen. Idiots like this think they're doing God's will by killing "sinners" and they'll be rewarded in Heaven.
See, now THIS is what the death penalty is for. You have an unrepentant asshole that believes that murdering defenseless people in cold blood is not only acceptable, but righteous and justified, feels no remorse for their actions, and can and will do the same again if released, as they have demonstrated. As rehabilitation is ineffective, this leaves either indefinite incarceration or execution. And incarcerated, there is a chance, however slim, that they could find another victim inside, or spread their distorted worldview.
Execute this oxygen thief and lets move on.
I'm gonna love the moment when Yishai croaks and enters the next world. He's gonna be MIGHTY SURPRISED!
Meanwhile, Shira's havin' Ambrosia sandwiches with Sally Ride, Amrita milkshakes with Harvey Milk & Soma wine with Sappho in The Great LGBTA March In The Sky!
3 weeks, eh? Tell me, Shlissel, what couldn't you stay away from? The food? The atmosphere? Well, whatever the case, try again in ten years. By then, you'll have less luck, being gay will be seen as more normal than it is now and, with any amount of hindsight, somebody will be keeping an eye on you next time.
Horrible man who will hopefully never see daylight again.
@ Azereaux:
Rehab can be effective but only if A) the perp wishes to change, B) the system is set up to support it and C) it's still a crap-shoot. The way the American prison system is set-up just makes criminals worse but the rehab system in, say, the Scandinavian countries is somewhat more successful (key word: "somewhat").
It takes religion to make otherwise good people do evil things.
Not saying this guy was a good person, I just like that quote.
Why was he ever released? It may be a tad brutal, but I'd've just let him rot in prison for the rest of his miserable life.
@Smart Alec: Thank you! That's what anyone opposed to MOGAI people should do!
@Ebon
Fair point. I should have specified that rehab in this particular case would be/was ineffective. And the system around here could definitely stand to take a page from certain nations' books on doing criminal rehab correctly. Rather see someone recovered than dead, but then there are cases like this guy...
@Smart Alec
As well you should. Good show.
Thank you very much too. And you two seem much nicer than some others online to boot. For the record I would argue about homosexuality online due to the fact that they should be able to enjoy their parades in peace.
I would be nothing but polite unlike some stupid bigots who make a mockery of our Lord. Unfortunately I'm a bit of a coward so I wouldn't be able to make an account online. On a side note what are the words I use a lot on this website? And what can you deduce from that I would like to know. Cheers everyone and remember the joy of life!
This is what the Tealiban would hold to be a model person. At least, were he a Christian rather than a Jew.
@Smart Alec
I may disagree with you on some matters. But you seem to be a good person. I hold no spite for you, not by any metric. I look forward to being on FSTDT with you.
As @SpukiKitty said, welcome, matey.
