[Do people who have never heard of Jesus go to Hell?]
They go to hell, like it says in the Bible. No exceptions. We all have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ. Everyone. If you don't believe or know about Jesus, it is either through willful ignorance or rebellion.

The surest evidence that your god is a mean bastard, and that you are a gloating idiot.
Now, a challenge to you - prove that there is a hell! Oh, and a god too!
Some God you got there. You do know this "We all have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ" is shit, Dontcha? China and India make up most the worlds population and are not exposed to Christianity for the most part.
Go back 500 to 1500 years ago neither did most Europeans. You religion's full of holes
I really don't get how people say things like this. I've heard this argument before too, that everyone in the world has heard of Jesus.
Most people have, but ALL?
Even the children who die prematurely? Or disabled people who can't understand that concept? Or people in starving countries who can't get an education? So it's all their fault even though things happen beyond their control?
Tell me WHAT makes sense about that?
Yeah..those rebelious Aztecs, Incans, and Native americans..they New Jeus was born over in the middle east, yet they chose Quetzlcoatl instead.. they are burning in Hell right now and Jesus himself tossed them in.
At least this idiot admits that no one in modern times has not heard of Jesus.
However, what about people in Australia before the 18th century? Or Native Americans before 1492? Isn't it a bit unfair for those people to suffer eternally over something they had no way of knowing about?
Go to hell? Of course they go to hell. Considerations of anything other than stark black and white simplicity are beyond mere fundie comprehension. How is a poor fundie going to manoeuver his or her way through the buffets and vicissitudes of life's complex obstacle course unless he or she be categorically shown every step to take. The fundie must get by on the least amount of learning and knowledge that he or she can get away with, whilst, if at all possible, thinking not at all. That's a pretty difficult task, but much easier to perform if you're told to do it in such a way that you'll avoid God's torture chambers.
If you don't believe or know about Jesus, it is either through willful ignorance or rebellion.
Actually, it would be a huge act of rebellion for people to worship this Jesus character over the god their culture worships. People usually believe what they are taught. It's no coincidence that Americans and Europeans tend to believe in Jesus (if they believe in any divine figure), Middle Easterners and North Africans tend to believe in Allah and Mohammad, and Indians tend to believe in Vishnu. Even if we assume that your religion is the one true religion, your god is still an ass for punishing people simply for believing what they're indoctrinated to believe is true. It amounts to torturing people for simply being wrong.
There is an old BBC comedy "Bless me father" where in one episode the young curate asks the older priest if he believes in hell.
The answer is something like - of course I do - but you don't think He sends anyone there do you?
You spout something that's not merely ignorant, not even merely moronic, but actively, painfully wrong, and you have the gall to use the phrase "willful ignorance?"
Ummm...no. You don't have the opportunity if you're never exposed to it. And I'm not rebelling, I just saw no point in following a religion when I didn't believe in the most fundamental parts of it. All that fighting amongst Christian denominations and the various scandals were just the nail in the coffin for me.
I'm now a very happy pagan and see no need to pretend to be otherwise just to please people like you.
Also, if you've never heard about gravity, it's because you want to be anti-establishment, and you'll float off into space but it'll serve you right.
Ooh stroke yourself more vigorously, melting flesh and bubbling fat, heathen native women, children and heathen native babies babies damnit! Raarghh, burn them harder, rawr.
The bible also says bats are birds, and that insects only have 4 legs, no exceptions, and we all know how that is wrong.
george, you and your fellow christ-stains just get nuttier every fucking year.
Thanks so much for all the lulz!
I've always liked the 'people who have never heard just somehow know'. A missionary visiting the church I was attending basically said the people he worked with being afraid of death was proof they know something bad is waiting for them.
(Hint: willful ignorance only applies if you have heard of something, have the opportunity to research it and you still choose to not learn about it.)
Yes, it's so fair of God to condemn people living in remote regions of the world and who have never had contact with Christians to hell. After all, it's their fault they don't have internet connections so they can learn about Jesus.
It's your religion but you're doing it wrong. As I recall it was to avoid god being a complete bastard that purgatory was invented.
Talking of which, as atheists, we can get around Pascall's Wager by stating that, at worst, that's where we'll end up.
Do people who have never heard of Jesus go to Hell?
I've never heard of that particular phrase, myself, but I like the hell out of it. Next time I stub my toe; "Awwww, Jesus-go-to-hell!!!"
Haha. Thanks, Fundie.
Oh dear, another person that is doomed to the 9th circle of Hell, where he will be buried up to his neck in ice, perpetually staring at the radiant beauty of Lucifer, according to Dante's Divine Comedy, as he is spouting such rubbish, it's unbelievable...
(Whoops, that's Fred Phelps'es punishment, though I suspect that George will be condemned to the 4th Circle, where he gets perpetually whipped by demons, wielding lashes of fire...).
HOW CAN IT BE WILLFUL IGNORANCE IF YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW THE NAME JESUS?! "Willful Ignorance" means you have some means to come to the truth readily at hand but choose to ignore it. Unless a fucking BIBLE drops from the sky, they cannot know the Gospel, and will be sent to hell without a chance of being redeemed. Some savior of man you got there...
Confused?
