I usually feel demonic presence around electrical sources. No, I'm not electromagnetically sensitive. But it seems that every time I reach for my remote control I feel a terrible presence gripping my heart right before I turn the TV on. So then I turn to my Bible instead. I really don't find anything on TV worth watching except a few Christian programmes, but I'm afraid that just having the thing on will lead me to temptation! I think that's the presence I feel, some demon waiting to just entice me with all the bittersweet things TV has to offer.

It must suck to be you. Too scared of hell to even enjoy the simple mindless pleasure of watching TV. If all you get from christianity is fear, superstition, and restrictions that interfere with having a normal life, what's the point?
every time I reach for my remote control I feel a terrible presence gripping my heart right before I turn the TV on.
So then I have to stand up, turn around three times and set the remote down facing north. Then I pick my Bible up with my right hand, pass it before my face twice, ...

"I really don't find anything on TV worth watching except a few Christian programmes"
"I think that's the presence I feel, some demon waiting to just entice me with all the bittersweet things TV has to offer."
Anybody else see a contradiction between the above two statements?
I see a contradiction between this fuckwit and the 21st Century.
"I usually feel demonic presence around electrical sources."
Sure you do.
"No, I'm not electromagnetically sensitive."
That, at least, is true.
"But it seems that every time I reach for my remote control I feel a terrible presence gripping my heart right before I turn the TV on."
That probably just the excitement you feel imagining the upcoming Baywatch rerun.
"So then I turn to my Bible instead."
Go for you. I'm sure your Bible-thumping pals are very inpressed.
"I really don't find anything on TV worth watching except a few Christian programmes, but I'm afraid that just having the thing on will lead me to temptation!"
Then why do you have a TV? Why would you be reaching for that remote?
"I think that's the presence I feel, some demon waiting to just entice me with all the bittersweet things TV has to offer."
I suppose it would be safest for you if you went to live in an isolated cave somewhere and left all electronic devices behind.
Ersatz, you are yourself an electrical source, that's how you make your limbs move around ( I was going to write 'that's how your brain works' , but it seemed inappropriate ).
Luigi Galvani discover this in the late eighteenth century.
Well, why in the Hell are you on the internet for? There's a billion times the "temptation" on here, man.
Going online to avoid the "temptations" of television is like moving to Thailand to avoid spicy food.
Jezebel's Evil Sister: I think in Ersatz's case, the point is to avoid Hell altogether. If he's as sharp-line as, say, David J. Stewart, then he regards Earthly life as something that is only meant to be endured. Any possibility of honest enjoyment of Earth ended with the exile from Eden. (I know I can't tolerate Entropy, but come now...) He's just steeling himself to the point he reaches Heaven (whether by death or rapture), at which point being under God's aegis will keep him forever safe from all fear/anxiety/etc.
Did he forget that God created the material world for a reason, and that he's probably not so inept that it would become a monstrosity after a single sin? Besides, saying that we should prize only Heaven, and only be apathetic (or the like) towards Earth, is kind of like saying a butterfly should scorn the plant whose leaves it fed on as a caterpillar.
In short...Ersatz's faith has somehow transmogrified from "implementing the ideals of Jesus" to "avoid Hell". It really does sound like the top claim of Heaven, with some of the fundamentalists, is "not Hell".
I work around electricity all of the time, and I say you are either mental or lying for attention.
P.S. - dont tell anyone about you surfing free porn the other day..its your naughty little secret.
I'm morbidly curious how he manages to stay online long enough to post this nonsense without "giving in to temptation" or coring out his monitor with a shotgun blast in a nervous fit.
These people would somehow manage to find demons in a salad.
Confused?
